Shopping for Wedding dress in Minneapolis

I went for my first excursion this past week and was not very thrilled. Please give me ideas on where to look! I went to one location which advertised many dresses on their site. When arriving there I gave them the list of dresses, picked from their site that I wanted to see and they did not show me a single dress that was on my list, but something similar. Stating that they do not necessarily carry them in the store-- I term this bait and switch.  I also do not like that in this location they have several brides trying on at once and then parade out to all the onlookers to view. Are there any locations in the twin cities that have a wide selection that actually include dresses that they advertise on their site and also offer privacy and actually listen to the brides? Completely discouraged.

    I'm a Twin Cities bride too...I'm guessing I know the Shop(pe) you're talking about :-P

I'm plus sized and I went to a couple of plus sized specific salons - Luxe (I can't say more great and wonderful things about this place) and Glass Slipper.

If you are of "regular" size, I've heard very good things of Bella Bridal in Woodbury.

  • Thank you ladies for your help! I started calling around looking for a particular dress.  Apparently that dress was discontinued-- but it was made by Allure. I found a wonderful place to go as a result, and they were having an Allure trunk show. I found a beautiful dress and received wonderful customer service at Posh Bridal in Wayzata.  Amy was absolutely wonderful to work with.  I cannot say enough positive things about this salon, highly recommend to anyone looking for their dress in the twin cities.
