*yawns* morning

Snowpocalypse is coming and people are freaking out.  So far, there hasn't been much of anything except some frozen rain around 5 am, but people are already trying to leave early/not come in.

I could've stayed snuggled in my bed....well, all morning really.

I need to do some work, but I'm not terribly motivated.

Re: *yawns* morning

  • Yes, the freakout is happening here.  Happens every year.  I blame the weather people...They always make a big friggin' deal of the first snow.  They're always so 'shocked' at the weather turning. *smh*

  • We are right where everything splits, so nothing for us...just arctic air.  yay?
  • As far as I know, we *might* get some snow on Sunday.  It's really freaking cold right now, but I'll take that over another snowpocalypse.

I did part of my SS shopping last night.  I just need to go pick up one more thing and I'm ready to ship.

  • They're claiming an ice storm for us starting tomorrow afternoon, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Today is Krampusnacht! We've already told Freya that if she keeps up the attitude, the Krampus may come for her other ear.

  • It's 60 right now, but we are supposed to turn bitter cold with snow tonight.  I have milk, tons of food, and baking supplies.  We will survive.
  • I'm hoping I can find some cute stuff in Minneapolis this weekend for my SS.  Yes, I will think about it, but don't be surprised if I forget.

Also, bossman is still out, he hasn't called, texted or anything.  But really, I can't blame him, I'm sure driving in with broken ribs is bad enough, without sitting in an uncomfortable chair at a desk.  No thanks.

But it does sh*tastic things for my motivation, and tomorrow I hope to skip out after 12:30 which will be a rude awakening when he might actually return.  OH WELL! *SHRUG*
  • Yep. Ice freak out commenceth. Even better, we're hittin' the interstate tomorrow for OOT! Yeehaw!!

I'm not looking forward to tomorrow's patients screaming that they need to get out of Nashville ASAP to get away from the ice, or the patients who preemptively call to say they aren't coming because of the weather so we have to reschedule them when the schedule is already a nightmare thanks to holidays :|.

  • Ugh @thejuchidea, I remember that.  While I tried to empathize (we had mostly elderly patients and they're right, they don't need to be out in the snow), they always wanted to R/S for a day or two later.  Oh...no, our next opening is in 6 weeks and no the doctor won't be changing his surgery schedule to accommodate snow days.  Surgery > clinic.

  • looks like it'll miss us--although I find that sometimes the big sites forget to put 'lake effect' into their plans :-)
  • I am making breakfast out of Lorna Doone cookies.

No snowpocolapse here, but man was traffic borked this morning. One freeway had a jumper that succeeded, Another had a major motorcycle accident. Both freeways were closed for hours, we had so many nurses getting in late this morning, it made me get home later to relieve DH to get on the road to fight traffic to work himself. He left over an hour ago and I still don't think he is in.

But I got DD's one year appointment rescheduled to another pediatrician in the same office. Ours left to work full time in the hospital seeing newborns.I stuck with the one we'd seen right after DD was born, and after the last visit I was starting to have my doubts about her style and mine meshing. I talked to one of our pediatric NP's who also had seen our regular pediatrician and she confirmed my feelings were hers too. So moving on.
  • I'm starting to build a shield for when you all start throwing things at me...it was 70 when I left for work, current temp outside is 82 and it's supposed to be in the upper 70s through the weekend....this is ridiculously warm weather for us, but still, hope you all stay safe and warm.
  • I always say I don't think I could live someplace where it was warm all the time, but then this happens and I think, "Hm....maybe".  I kind of like the snow, I just don't like the consequences of the snow.
