Table Numbers....

What is everyone doing for their table numbers?

I've been going back and forth between ideas and don't seem to LOVE anything!

We're avid travelers so we named our tables after cities/other destinations we had traveled to together (or were going to on our hm). I had labels done from a shop on Etsy and then affixed them to wine bottles. Turned our really nice.

I used Microsoft Publisher to create my table numbers.  I used a palm tree border since we are having a beach themed wedding.  I am having the numbers stand with seashells that I bought at Michaels.  The cardstock number sits right into the seashell.

I used Adobe Photoshop to make a background of an old map of our neighborhood (We're having a totally Northside/Mexican War Streets wedding). The numbers are layered above the map background. I printed them out on cream cardstock and found some inexpensive 5 inch square final clearance antique looking frames at Michaels.

    How about escort cards??

I saw a super cute idea in Martha. She had 12 oz. glass bottles with a drink in them. Then she tied a tag around the neck with a name and table. BUT the shipping of the bottles is $42 and I can't justify it!

So now I'm back to square one!

We're doing DC neighborhoods for table numbers. We are then framing a description of the neighborhood.

The only item I will not compromise on...my bouquet of all purple tulips wrapped in a swatch from my Mom's wedding dress.

I haven't seen this personally, but someone in my office was telling me about a wedding she attended where the table numbers were pictures of the bride + groom when they were little. The number was placed on the picture in the corner (think layered artwork).

She also said that to their surprise, guests took them home!

We're naming the tables after places in Disney (where we met, got engaged) and framing them with vintage looking gold/silver frames. I designed the names in photoshop and will look like this and follw this same format for the rest of the names - I am also going to add a number to each to lessen the confusion:

We're big sports fans so we did names of our favorite teams instead of numbers. The seating chart was a baseball lineup. It was a big hit!

I named ours after flowers, since we had a spring wedding- just wrote the flower names on lilac cardstock, did a scalloped-edged border, and stuck a rhinestone flower on. Does your wedding have a theme? Do you guys have places that are special to you? Shared interests maybe? Hopefully that gives you some ideas... as for escort cards, I did pretty much the same thing as with the table cards- tented lilac cardstock with handwritten names and table, with a rhinestone flower.

I have been considering small frames that coordinate with the look of everything else...shabby chic/vintage so probably a distressed cream frame.  Now that I've read all of these ideas, I'm thinking it would be cute for our tables to be named after monuments in DC since that is where we had our first date/got engaged.  Sounds like table themes is the way to go!

We are doing names of trees instead of table numbers. I have an enchanted forrest theme so I thought would be quite appropriate.
