NWR: so fn annoyed right now

I've been waiting in the doctors office for an hour and fifteen minutes now. I just need a prescription. She just took someone in ahead of me saying, oh, she just needs a flu shot. Well I only need a prescription, fuck you. I've never had a doctor that hasn't kept me waiting excessively. I feel like throwing magazines in a rage. What is the point of an appointment?

Re: NWR: so fn annoyed right now

  • That is so freaking annoying!
  • Especially because it's the morning - I don't understand how they could possibly be this far behind already.

Go online and write a review. All the sites where you review doctors have wait time as a measure on which they're rated. It's actually a quality of care accreditation measure that wait times should be 30 minutes or less. I used to work for a health plan and served on the complaints committee. One of the categories of complaint is long wait time. You could complain to your health plan and they'll get a slap on the wrist.

  • I hate that!
  • Um, they're also not supposed to tell you what someone else is going in for.  Hope it doesn't totally ruin your day!

  • Ughhhh I'd be going up to the receptionist every 15 minutes asking how much longer and saying "I just need a prescription" that would irk me.

  • This happened to me at the gyno before. 45 minutes waiting in the room. I almost left but, I literally had been waiting almost 2 months for this appointment. Needless to say I found a new doctor. I would also write a review or make a formal complaint to your insurance company.

  • I remember waiting an hour or more everytime I went to planned parenthood in Philly. Just to pick up new pills.
Before I had a smartphone, i would always bring a book or sketch pad with me anytime i went to the doctor or dentist.

  • Thanks ladies! I survived the wait without pitching a fit. Of course, once I was called, I was out within 5 minutes. The nurse and doc both apologized. I took a deep breath and moved on with my day. Glad you were here to vent to....took the edge off.

Planned Parenthood is such a pain in the butt!  Every time I've ever needed to call them it's been a pain to get ahold of anybody, and it was a pain every time I needed a refill of my pills.  I eventually just had them call my prescription in to a nearby pharmacy so I wouldn't have to deal with them every month.

  • In my neck of the woods, going to a new doctor just isn't an option-there's a sever lack of doctors in northern Alberta, especially the small towns.  Even the clinic where I live has the quota of walkins by about 8-8:30 am (they open at 7:30).  If you don't get there by 6:30 am, you won't get to see the doc that day!
  • I had the first appointment of the day once and was kept waiting half an hour. I don't understand that at all.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14
