Wedding Planning Lull

Anyone else experience lulls in planning? To me it's almost like a roller coaster. I will be super obsessed and focused on planning, then for a while I don't even want to think about it.

For example, my dress has been at DB for a week and I haven't gone to pick it up yet.

The week before I was in contact with no less than 8 DJs and ordered about 10 invitation samples.

This lull may be brought on by the fact that we booked our honeymoon cruise, so I have dove into planning/researching that.

I have had a lull in planning too. It's not a bad thing. It happens. It sounds like you did a lot with calling Djs and ordering samples last week. Take a week or so and not do anything wedding related and then if you feel up for it, tackle something else on your wedding to-do list.

I at least have to go pick up my dress. LOL The wedding isnt for another 8 months and I don't plan on getting it altered right away.

I think it happens to everyone. We're going to take a planning break soon. We agreed no wedding talk during the holidays. So from the week of Christmas until January 3rd no wedding planning.

I know what you mean about the lull; I've gotten most of the big stuff done and now I'm avoiding finishing our wedding website and addressing the STDs. But go pick up that dress; I know my David's only holds them for 2 weeks. Besides, maybe trying your dress on will motivate you.

I like the idea of no wedding talk during the holidays! I am sure fiance will like that too. He says I get obsessed sometimes. I just want everything to to awesome! 

I'll go get my dress tho.

My FI and I are also doing no wedding planning till after the new year. He's stressed with end of year deadlines and I work retail thus am a raging bitch from thanksgiving till new years.

It happens. I've noticed it too, especially since I planned a lot early on so now I'm kind of just waiting for things to happen. Sometimes I just don't want to focus on the wedding at all! It's fun, and I have lots to do as the day gets closer, but I've been so busy with life that it takes over everything wedding related!

I'm in a lull. We aren't getting married until May 2015. We booked the venue because they book SUPER early, but aren't diving into everything else until spring. So we've got a long lull!

I'm also a May 2015 bride here, in the same boat: our venue (really, around here most venues) books up super early.  So far, booking the venue is the only thing we've done.  I guess next up will be photographer and dress, but 1.5 years feels too early for those things.

Right there with you. I go from uber planning one week to not touching anything wedding for a month. I just finished making an example of our invite with inserts and all, and now I won't touch anything til I'm home for the holidays. Nothing left to really do though but book hair appointment and dress alters.

I went to pick up my dress.....

and the size they ordered for me is too small! REALLY?? LOL

I sent it to the other girls and they like it! We will all go after new years so they can try it on and make sure they don't hate it on.

I took the whole month of December off from planning. With the holidays, I really just didn't care about wedding stuff.

I am currently living in one state, my fiance is in another, the wedding is in a third, and my mom (who is helping me with a lot of the planning) is in a fourth. So, it definitely goes in spurts for me! Certain things get done when my fiance or mom is visiting me. We have a bunch of meetings lined up for when we will be in MN over Christmas.
