Help! How to put the ring together!!

Help!! Technical question here... I have chosen a connected double wedding band - the engagement ring (which is a solitaire diamond) fits in between the connected wedding bands... Would you take off the engagement ring and put in together during the ceremony or just "fake" your way through the ceremony and then put it together after? Anyone else had this style?

I would probably put them together beforehand then have the best man hand the whole thing over at the ceremony.

Thanks!!  I think I will put them together before the ceremony - they kind of lock into place so it shouldn't come apart.
