How was your weekend/who has good apple recipes??

GM!  We were supposed to have a rainy weekend, but it ended up being gorgeous.  I hope all the ladies with saturday weddings had great weather in the burgh as well.

I did apple picking with my friends, and now I have SO many apples...recipe suggestions?? I know how to do baked apples, but that's about it.  Healthier is better, but I can always pass unhealthy stuff on to my students.

Hope everyone's weekend was good!

The weather here in the Burgh was fabulous.  I am glad the girls had good weather!  We had a good weekend.  Rode 30 miles on the "Tour the Montour" ride this Saturday.  It was fun, but I am not in the biking shape I was last year.  Plus, I have stumbled off the healthy wagon.  We have been so busy lately I actually gained about 5 lbs back.  The good (if there is a good side) is that now my dress doesn't need to be taken in.  It fits perfectly.  Oh well....

We had our 2nd meeting with our pastor.  That was fun.  He is awesome.  We have one more next weekend.  That should be fun because we can bring our dogs.  They are having a "Blessing of the Pets" which we go to every year.  We have our meeting after that and he said the dogs can stay Smile

4 weeks to go...starting to panic...just a little about getting everything done, to include getting the house cleaned.

    How is everyone else doing?

    Here is a healthy and easy apple sauce recipe...love it! {{Clicky}}

Mmmm I love apples!! Here's one of my favorite apple dip recipes:

    8 oz cream cheese, softened
    1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. canned pumpkin
    1/2 tsp cinnamon

Beat everything together until smooth, then chill for an hour.

I had to work on Saturday so that really sucked. We tried the new Peruvian restaurant in Squirrel Hill (Aji) Saturday night and it was pretty good. The entrees were just so-so, but the ceviche was awesome and the dulce de leche dessert was soo creamy and rich!

    Hi Everyone!

I went to KY this weekend to host my MOH's bridal shower (she's getting married in a month). It went really well and was very pretty. The food her family made was awesome (they have owned restuarants so they know what they're doing) and my best friend really like the game we played.

Her fiance was supposed to be in a wedding that day though, and that morning he woke up to a text message from the groom telling him the wedding was off. Yep. You heard that right. The wedding was canceled THE DAY OF. Craziness.

Hello Ladies! This weekend was relaxing! FI was camping so my mom and I took the opportunity to bake! We're a big baking family! We made 23 dozen cookies Saturday and 17 dozen on Sunday!
My maids and moms are throwing my bridal shower in November which I'm totally excited about! They are making into a Fall Fest theme, which is my favorite season! I got a sneak peek at some of the decorations and such so that was fun!

Apple recipes hmm I know my mom used to make this delicious dessert I would have to see if I can find the recipe!

Hey everyone!  Weekend was good- got some cleaning done, ran some errands, went out for a friends bday, relaxed and watched football!  Always goes too fast, though...

Here is a pretty tasty apple crisp recipe:

It's okay if you don't have the orange/lemon zest or juice, or if you don't even have any pears or cranberries.. when I baked it last year, I just used all apples instead.  Soooo good served warm with vanilla ice cream!!!

I looooove this apple recipe: Moist Caramel Apple Cake

I use spice cake instead of yellow cake and I serve (self serve) it with a bottle of Caramel Sundae topping.  Sooooo yummy!  Not exactly nutritional... but taste wins here for me!!
