Destination wedding invitations

Hi all, I am in a bit of a dilemma.  I am originally from a small town in Iowa where my parents have a large role in the community.  I now live in North Carolina and am getting married in the outer banks as a destination wedding.  My mother wants to have to have a, "celebration," for us back in Iowa.  However, she wants to send everyone the same invitation to the wedding with a card inside notifying people that if they are unable to attend the wedding, they are welcome at the celebration.  However, I am not thrilled at sending everyone an invitation to the actual wedding, because it is 300+ people! I am trying to figure out how to word the card that will be inserted into the invitation.  Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Cheryl

  • I wouldn't put an insert in the invitation to this effect.

Just send the wedding invitation to everyone you would actually like to attend, regardless of whether or not they can actually attend, and don't mention your mother's celebration.  Your mother should treat this second "celebration" as a separate event and invite people accordingly.
