Vendor Review December 2013

Hello! I found these other vendor reviews while planning so I thought I would contribute and help out! I was recently married this month in the Mechanisburg area. Our wedding was about 80 people.

Dress: Mori Lee bought at Sue Ames in Allentown PA
A+ Loved this little shop, the location isn't the best but the girls knew how to fit a dress to my plus size figure in order to flatter and make me look 5 sizes smaller!

A+ Loved her too! We found her by googling and hit the jackpot! She's super flexible with appointments and will meet you at her shop or at a bridal shop in E-town, she is quick and well priced! Shes so patient and makes you feel so beautiful

DJ: Klock Entertainment, DJ Joe B
A I give an A only because the places getting A+'s did such SUCH a great job. We loved Klock from the beginning and although they were pricey, I'm so glad we went with them. We used the snow machine, photo booth and the basic Bridal package. Our guests weren't dancers but they played a great mix of stuff and really listened to our requests. I think Joe's greatest strength is coordination, he ran though everything with me until I had my head wrapped around the schedule and really worked to get our wedding to what we wanted. Their photo booth is TOP notch. We got a flash drive with the extra photos, such great quality!

Photographer: Elaine Gates
A Elaine makes you forget there is a camera in front of you. For someone who wants to always pose and get at the right angle, she is able to get your best side without you even knowing it.  She does take longer than I would like to get photos back, it's been a week and we don't even have a preview of a few photos.

Venue: Liberty Forge
B+ So beautiful and the food was a knockout, as was the cake. We used the cocktail buffet stations and they were a huge hit. I did feel that communication with the planner there was slow, e-mail replies were quickly formed and sometimes did not cover all of my questions. I understand they are balancing a lot but it didn't feel personal at all, our planning meeting was more about filling out a form and checking off boxes. I would have preferred someone sitting down and listening to our vision and then coming back and discussing.

Hotels: Homewood Suites and Hampton Inn, Ritter Road Mechancisburg PA
C I had great things to say until the last week before the wedding, communication issues galore, mixed up rooms, empty promises, "lost" e-mails. The bridal room was nice, not the best, but I realize it is not the Ritz. Guests seemed to be happy but  I wound up dealing with room issues the day before my wedding instead of getting ready. They also called us at 1030 after the wedding to ask a seemingly stupid question- so much for 'do not disturb'!!

Flowers: Hammaker's flowers
A Again I felt that my time with them wasn't too personal, but Wendy did listen to what I had to say. She also dealt with a large family in her shop- all with different opinions, so kudos for that! I was not picky about flowers, we discussed my hard budget and my general idea for the ceremony flowers and centerpieces and bouquets but I didn't see anything until the day of. The flowers are still lasting (centerpieces put in water) and looked amazing.

Hope this helps- let me know if you want more info on any of the vendors. I would use every one except the hotels again!
