Wedding Invitations & Paper

Invitation Suggestions

Any suggestions on where to get the invitations from? Like everyone, we are not wanting to spend an arm and a leg on them. What were your experiences?

What should we do/ shouldn't do?

Re: Invitation Suggestions

  • I used vista print.
I ordered STD postcards - saved on postage.
Invites I designed my own an uploaded it. We used the 5x7 flat card with no inner envelope. We used postcards for the response cards (again saved on postage). I also bought a stamper from them for the outer envelope return address. (Even though you are technically supposed to hand write them - but it's a victimless crime)

My sister did the print them yourself option she fought at Michael's. Go in and buy them one at a time with a coupon form their mobile app.

  • Party City has tons of binders to look through.  Some of the invitations are cheesy, some are really nice.  They also usually give 30% off.  We found a design we liked, googled it when we got home, and found it even cheaper through a distributor and ordered it online.
  • Ann's Bridal Bargains is well-priced. My sister ordered the seal & send type from there and was very happy. Or there is a seller on Etsy - InvitingMoments - whose designs are $1.60 each. We ordered a sample and although we ended up going with something else, we were impressed with the quality.
  • I'm using Walmart. They were $17 for 25. I got 150 for $113. They are just as dressy as other places. You do have to print them yourself though, but I work for a company that I can use their quality printer and ink for it.

It all depends on what you're looking for. When I was going to use vistaprint, after I had everything made up, it would of cost me $400 for 150. I have a 8k budget other than reception food/booze so to me, that's a lot.

  • What are you looking to spend exactly on invites? Are you looking for something on the fancier side without the fancy price? Are you just looking for anything that is inexpensive? Depends on what you are looking for exactly. Check out my site www.placeofevents.com
You can't advertise on here. @knotporscha
