  • For serious. Just wait until January when all of the girls (yes, I mean girls) who got engaged over Christmas come over here asking about their ideas for their cash bars and brideslaves.
THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS?????  Dammit the whole reason I like these boards is because most of the people I see on here are relatively mature and polite to each other.  Everywhere else most of the people posting are immature and nasty and dramatic…  Do these girls stay long?

This will happen. And also after Valentine's day. The crazy bratty brides will post a few times and realize that TK is a place for weddings that provide adequate posting for guests and that we don't espouse lies. They don't stay long and then go over to WB and WW because they'll get more sympathy there.
Ok that sounds tolerable, I just like not having to deal with too much immaturity or nastiness on here XD but if it doesn't last too long I can deal with a little craziness.

It also happens after prom season. There are fewer posters, but they're pretty crazy. Usually, it's "I'm 17 and got engaged at prom and I not know how to tell my parents."
Oh lord. A girl I was friendly with got engaged at our prom. We were all (o.O)

Did it actually work out? I know I discovered TK in high school because my then bf and I thought we'd get married, but there was never a proposal and I had the decency to just lurk.

Nope. They broke up 2 months later.

Sounds like these could be fun to read. I will admit (sadly) I lurked for years too. By the time I finally got engaged, I had pretty much learned what was acceptable and what would bring on the wrath. If I thought of an idea, I would check its appropriateness amongst the posts and go from there.

Now that I’m planning my own wedding, I am happy to ask for help or bounce ideas around and do appreciate the sometimes harsh advice. Everyone I’ve talked too has been very helpful. As long as the OP is respectful, advice is usually kindly given with any etiquette breach explained. It’s when someone gets really defensive, that things get nuts. (Cue me pouring a glass of wine and popping some popcorn and you’ve got my favorite way to wind down from a bad day.)

I really do appreciate the advice given here and am glad all of this information is right at my fingertips. I have seen several posters talk about the spring season being nuts and I am a bit curious to see if these ladies are as extreme as described.

    Happy reading…<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
