NWR: homeowners associations

From the agreements I've read from some of the neighbor hoods we looked at I just can't see it working well for us. Most of them have a list of what kind of flowers you can plant and we both love to work in the yard so that is just not going to be work. HOAs are very new to my area so most of the neighborhoods with them are no more than 15 years old.
