Affordable Northern NJ/NY Wedding Venues

Hello! I am looking to have a affordable wedding in the New Jersey/ New York Area (Bergen/Hudson Counties). I'm looking at 125-150 a head for a Friday in July 2015. Any suggestions?! So far everything we have looked at has been extremely out of this price range. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :)

Re: Affordable Northern NJ/NY Wedding Venues

  • Consider going out west.  Places like Farmstead GC or Lafayette House are probably much more reasonably priced than places in Bergen and neighboring counties.
  • You may be able to find things in your budget even in Morris county like The Knoll CC in Parsippany and Lake Valhalla in Montville.  Also look into Lake Mohawk in Sparta and Perona Farms in Andover.
If you're willing to go to northern Sussex County, Crystal Springs has a few properties that fit your budget.

  • Is $125-$150 + tax/tip or inclusive?

I don't know anything in Hudson or Bergen County, but check out the below...

I second the Knoll CC (Morris Country) - my wedding is there and we are paying under $125 including tax & tip for a Saturday.

Richfield Regency (Essex County) and The Views at Mt. Fuji (just over the border in NY State) are also in this range including tax & tip.
  • L.David's in Hackettstown and The Naussau House in Princeton are both very reasonable.  I've just priced The Nassau House and their weddings begin at 95 a head which is amazing for such an elegant venue.
  • Let's see-- you have about our budget and we are also in North Jersey.  We went with Highlawn Pavilion, $120pp on a Saturday evening, Friday would be cheaper.  Other options: Madison Hotel, Somerset Hills Hotel, rent out a museum or event space like Montclair Art Museum.

  • We paid less than that for our Saturday night wedding at The Graycliff. We did get married in March though. It's worth looking into.

  • Check out the Waterside in North Bergen. We are getting married there in November- and it is within your budget. Not sure how much the cost pp varies for the Summer months, though. Good luck!
  • I have about 150 ppl and am in Bergen county too. I looked at The GrayCliff, Colonial Inn ( a bit dated on the decor but was $75/person not including tax and tip), The Hanover Manor (they include flowers in their pricing), and The Madison Hotel. But ended up setting my date at Bridgewater Manor in Bridgewater. They are running a special for June- August of this year at $99.99/person all inclusive of tax and tip. They still had dates for July and August when I booked my June date last month. Note that most venues don't include the tax and tip when they qoute, so make sure to ask.
  • I'm getting married July 2015 too! Woohoo! We ended up booking Seasons for $95 pp on a Sunday for 140 guests. We also looked at Waterside ($135 pp +tax), The Tides ($80), Il Villaggio ($135) and Nanina's By the Park ($135). I heard Graycliffe is about $100 pp, Browstone is around $120 and Skyland Manor is $125 but charge for "extras". I hope that helps!
