This took me a while to get together with the holidays being so busy, but i finally got it done! Let me know if anyone has any questions. After writing all of these, it definitely makes you thankful for all of the past reviews people have taken the time to write. This board was so much help! Thank you everyone for the advice during my planning!

Harmony Medina: A +++<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
I LOVED Harmony! She is such a sweetheart! I booked her for a trial the day before my wedding and for my day of bridal HMU. I contacted her via email originally but found that texting was more efficient. Trial was $50, bridal HMU was $150, a $50 deposit is required and you can pay the balance in advance or day of. Included in the cost were the lashes (she also doesn’t charge for coming to your hotel room). When I arrived in Vegas I messaged her my room number and she confirmed our appt time again. We did the trial on a Friday morning. When she go there I showed her what I had saved to my pinterest board and she knew exactly what I was looking for right away. She asked a few questions to clarify the look I was going for and we got started. She was so friendly and I had a lot of fun talking to her the whole time. I opted for the airbrush makeup and I really liked it. It looked very natural and was really light weight. It also didn’t cover up all of my freckles (anyone out there with freckles will understand this battle). The only thing with airbrush I found was that I got a bit shiney later on in the day. I touched it up with some powder and it looked fine. She made sure I felt comfortable telling her if I wanted any changes at all, and I did not feel like I was insulting her when I did ask for a slightly lighter smokey eye. The trial took about an hour. She took out my hair for me before she left so no one could see it I loved my hair! I It was also really windy the day of my wedding and it held together all day.. I was really happy with the work she did and I got compliments on her work all night.
Now here’s why Harmony is so awesome: SHE WAS ALSO GETTING MARRIED THAT DAY! She wasn’t going to tell me at first (she didn’t want me to feel bad/weird about it) but after we were talking for a while she told so she could talk about her plans too. I couldn’t believe it! She knew right from when I booked that her wedding was that day too but she still did it. Just shows how dedicated she is to her job. Not once did I feel like she was rushing through my appt, I would never had known she had somewhere to be without her telling me. She actually said it was a good way to relax before the wedding. We had a good time talking about wedding planning etc etc. I would totally recommend using her!
Nine Fine Irishmen: A+
We have gotten so many compliments on our venue choice of NFI. The food was awesome, the staff were beyond amazing and the atmosphere was so fun!
I was originally speaking with a woman from New York, New York in August when we first were looking into NFI. She responded very quickly and sent a very detailed email about all of the dining options and prices. We had been to NFI a couple of times at our last Vegas trip so we knew that we liked it. Once she told us they had our date available we booked right away. After we booked not much more was needed to plan until we decided our menu (which we didn’t need to do until 2 weeks prior). We didn’t use any outside vendors for our reception so I’m not sure on their policy with that, though I’m sure they would be accommodating.
When I emailed to check on a few things a couple of months later, I got a automated email back saying that she had left NYNY. It took a few days to get a hold of the replacement, Cindy, but once she got back to me originally she was awesome. I found the best was to contact her was through email. I met with her two days before our wedding and she walked me through the area, showed us the printed menus etc.
We reserved the Mezzanine and outdoor balcony (which is upstairs), which can hold up to 75 people. We had 34 guests, plus the two of us and it was very comfortable, seating wasn’t too crowded and there was more than enough room to get up and move around. If you had more than 40 people it might start to get a bit crowded with the seating arrangements. The upstairs is a bit split up, but if you book the entire floor it would seat 75 really comfortabley. The outdoor balcony was very cool as you could see part of the strip lit up. They are in the middle of construction outside the hotel but you didn’t notice it at night.
I was so happy with our food choices. We had been there for lunch before and loved the food, I just wasn’t sure how the main courses (NY strip and roasted chicken) would be. We were so impressed! Everything we had was amazing! So much better than your typical wedding food. They even added in a specific dessert I wanted to the menu for me. The chef came out and met us before the reception started and chatted for a bit.
The wait staff here was the best we encountered our whole trip. We had an open bar for the three hours we had the area reserved. They were really quick with getting our drink orders to us, no one was ever without a drink. Some of our guests were even ordering two at a time lol. The manager would check on us throughout the night and always made eye contact with me to see if I needed anything.
We had the mezzanine booked for three hours, so we did dinner, a few toasts, the bouquet/garter toss and our first dance upstairs. At 9pm every night an Irish band plays on the main level so we took the party down there afterwards. The band was awesome! We danced the whole night! We had seen this band one of the nights we were there before so we knew they would be great. They were really great at taking our requests. The whole area in front of the stage was really open so I was able to dance in my dress without knocking into everyone.
For our 34 guests (two of which were children) plus my husband and myself, the total cost was $5100. This included a 4 course dinner at $65 a plate, 3 hours premium open bar at $57 a plate, and taxes and service charges. They had quite a few dining and drink options to choose from as well as different areas to reserve.
Overall, I am SO SO happy that we chose NFI.
Accommodations:
Mandalay Bay: A
Overall, we were pretty pleased with Mandalay. We mainly chose it because it is very close to our chapel. For the most part I liked that it was a bit South of the main part of the strip as there was considerably less traffic, but it was a trek to get up to the centre strip. The tram that runs between Mandalay, Luxor and Excalibur came in very handy. Most of our guests stayed here with us, and most of them were actually upgraded to suites in The Hotel for free when they arrived. These rooms were super nice. I had requested a strip view with our room, which I got and it was awesome, so we ended up just keeping our original room instead of upgrading. Since we went in December, the beach etc wasn’t open L but it looked amazing! We are definitely going back in the summer to stay here again. They had a great selection of restaurants for us, but if you are looking for something on the cheaper end you’d have to travel over to Luxor (they had a food court there with McDonalds etc).
They only cons I ran into is that we were giving an adjoining room. I’m sure if I called down and asked to switch rooms it would not have been a problem, but I just didn’t care enough to bother with it. A couple of times I could hear our neighbours talking but it wasn’t really an issue. Also, on the night of my bachelorette we were pre-drinking in my room before we went out (this was at like 10:00-10:30) and someone called security to complain about us being too loud. Seriously people? The security guards were really nice about it and you could tell they also thought it was a little silly. Other than these two minor issues, we had a great time staying here.
Luxor:
We had a few of our guests stay here because Mandalay Bay was sold out when they booked. The hotels are connected so it was very convenient. Everyone who stayed there enjoyed it, but preferred Mandalay. We went into LAX for a bit during my bachelorette night but didn’t stay too long. It was super tiny and the drinks were really weak. I don't think I would stay here personally. It was cheaper than other options, but you can stay much closer to mid-strip for the same amount.
Tropicana:
Some of our family stayed here and were really impressed. Definitely a great place if you’re looking for something a bit cheaper or with a family. My parents really enjoyed the breakfast buffet here. It is actually owned by Hilton now (which I didn’t realize until a couple of months ago) so the quality standards were high. The location was great as well.
Bachelorette:
Kumi: A+
Def a new favourite Vegas restaurant of mine! We went her for dinner before my bachelorette, and because we had about 12 people, my MOH set up a group menu. Included was a huge fishbowl type drink (four people shared the drink), a selection of sushi, and we picked two entrees and two sides, plus dessert. The food was amazing! Their house special Pop Rock rolls were awesome, sounds weird I know but it was delish. The service was great as well, it definitely felt like we were getting the VIP treatment. I would highly recommend it!
Chippendales: B+
We went here right after dinner on my bachelorette night and it was definitely the highlight of the evening. My MOH reserved a group before hand and everyone paid when we got there. It ended up being $33 a person, which I thought was an awesome deal. The show was so much fun! The only reason I am giving this a B+ is the drink service. Our waitress was horrible! She took forever to get our drinks for us and had an attitude the whole time. Other than that, we all had an awesome time. At the end of the show you can get your picture taken with all the guys for $20 a person. The price was a little crazy (considering with the 8 of us who went they made $160 for taking one picture) but well worth having the keepsake.
Other:
Lupo: C
We planned a group dinner of about 20 people here the night before the wedding in lieu of a rehearsal dinner and were so disappointed. The service here was the worst I’ve ever encountered in Vegas. Everything took forever. We didn’t get to place our orders until an hour after we got there. I can understand taking a bit longer with a large group, but taking that long is just ridiculous. The waiter that I had spent the entire night trying to up sell us anytime we spoke to him. The first thing he did was try to sell us a $500 bottle of champagne when I asked for a bottle of wine. The food was their only redeeming quality. Once everyone received their meals they were thoroughly enjoyed. The bruschetta was one of the best I’ve ever had. We were very close to reserving here for our reception dinner and I am SO glad that we did not.
Gordon Ramsay Burgr: A+
The best burger I've ever had! A few of us went to dinner here one night and were totally impressed. Great service and great food. Highly suggest adding duck bacon to your burger, so delicious.
Jersey Boys: A
This was the second time I've seen this show and it was just as much fun as the first time. They do an awesome job. There is definitley an older crowd but still very enjoyable for all ages. Our seats were $70 each and still had a great view of the stage.
RM Seafood: A+
If you can't tell by now, we did a lot of eating in Vegas lol, My husband and I went here for dinner just us the night before we left. The seafood was absolutely amazing. Hubby had the surf n turf and I had sushi and clam chowder, we also shared the calamari to start. Everything was perfect and our waiter was really great.
Booking/Flights:
Vegas.com: A
After quite a bit of research we ended up booking oUr flights and hotel with Vegas.com. We looked at a couple of group booking options, and this ended being cheaper. It also allowed everyone to plan their own reservations, which was so much easier for us. Booking was really easy and their customer service was on point. Our flights got switched around a few times, due to cancellations etc, and they were very quick to update us and get everything figured out. I’ll definitely be booking with them again.
Westjet: A+
I always have a good experience with Westjet, and this trip was no different. We took Westjet from Toronto to Vegas and I brought my dress with me as carry on. One of the FA’s saw me sitting with my dress and came up to me and suggested I ask the customer service rep to pre-board. I did this and actually got a whole overhead compartment to myself (the plane did not have anywhere to hang it) so I didn’t have to worry about squishing it in there. My dress was all lace so I didn’t have to get it steamed when I got to Vegas.
Air Canada: B
This was first time I’ve flown Air Canada and I’m not in a hurry to do it again. The staff were friendly enough but nothing remarkable. The biggest annoyance is that you have to pay for all checked baggage, which wasn’t included when I bought the flight package. In hindsight, I should have opted for the later departing Westjet flight.
“Boy Stuff”:
Since you don’t see a lot of it on here, I thought I’d include a little snippet of some of the stuff the guys did on the trip.
Saphire Gentlemen’s Club:
My husband’s BM set up a “VIP” reservation here, which included limo pick-up/drop-off, bottle service and cover. This ended up being waaay cheaper than buying everything separately. The guys all had a great time here but boy did their wallets get a workout lol. The ATM charge alone was $25 haha! Obviously I wasn’t there, but apparently the girls were of higher caliber than most strip clubs and the facility itself was really nice. Your money will get spent very quickly and in high volume here.
Toby Ketihs:
They ventured here after the strip club and remained there for the majority of the night. My husband loves this bar, which I found strange at first considering he is not a country fan by any means. Again, I wasn’t there, but I think what was most appealing was the atmosphere, a fun place but without the drama of a nightclub. The rodeo nationals were in town the week of our wedding, so this place was packed with cowboys. The boys got a table without waiting and the service was great the whole time.
Las Vegas National Golf Club:
My husband planned a mini tournament here the day before our wedding. 12 guys played and with club rentals etc it was $70 a person. They booked the tee time for 2 pm and played 9 holes (due to the sun starting to go down around 4), which is why they got a good deal. They all loved the course, which was in great condition even for December. My husband put it all on his credit card and had to fix some of the charges afterward, so just double check your charges if you plan a group game here.
