Maid of honor and bridemaids

Hi all,

I need advice..the maid of honor has a simpler design and longer dress (floor length) then the rest of the bridesmaids (knee length) to make her stick out..all dresses are the same color....wondering if if this okay to do? Not sure how it would look..didn't want to go through the trouble of doing different shades...

What you've described sounds fine, as long as you've talked with all the girls individually and the dresses you've picked are something they like/would like to wear and is at or under the smallest budget.

I don't think the MOH needs to stand out or have a different dress - people will know who she is because she'll stand next to you and may be listed in the program, but if you want to have her wear a longer dress, that's ok too.

i dont like the look of long and short thats just my opinion. i wanted a long light fabric gown for my wedding my sister moh wanted no such thing she said she would only wear a short dress and that was final my maids were ok with long as long as the fabric was light ( summer evening wedding) and were also open with short dresses as long as they were knee length and not mini length.

when it came time to pick out dresses every short dress my sister tried on she claimed made her look like a hotel cleaning made so we ended up with long one shoulder dresses with the same color. my sister moh will stand out as she will have roses in her  bouquet along with daisys and only my maids will have the daisys

It's fine, but I never understand the point of making the MOH stick out.

Personally, I dislike mixing short and long BM dresses.  But it is up to you.  There are lots of way to make a MOH stand out, ie. her bouquet size/colour/types of flowers.  Here are some pictures of MOHs in different length dresses than the BMs:

This is confusing...are you the bride or the MOH? I only ask because unless someone at the wedding does something really outrageous there's no way the bride WOULDN'T stand out
