Bakeries in Fairfield County that don't use Fondant?

I hate fondant. I've tried all different kinds, including a new one on the market made to taste like buttercream, and I just really dislike it (more texture then taste honestly). I've always had my heart set on a really cool designed cake, but using buttercream. There is a bakery in Ardsley, NY that specializes in buttercream only designs (highly recommend checking them out---cakes are delicious too! http://www.thewhimsicalbakehouse.com/) but their delivery window and distance from our venue in Norwalk takes them off the table.

Anyone know of bakeries that can make delicious, and beautiful cakes using buttercream, not fondant?

J Cakes! They offer both fondant and buttercream, but we went with buttercream and the cake was delicious. They're located in North Branford but I know they travel to venues in Fairfield County.

a lot of the old school italian bakeries make amazing and tasty cakes using buttercream only. just call up  as many bakeries in your area that do cakes i know a ton of bakeries in the central ct and hartford area that do amazing buttercream cakes..

they all do amazing tasty cakes in buttercream with designs

my cousin and his wife live in norwalk and they had a cake for their reception ( they did a destination wedding and threw a party when they got back) i can find out what bakery they used it was a sheet cake filled with strawberries and peaches whipped cream and had a nice design on it cake was yummy 2

Check out DiMare in Stamford and Greenwich. Their cakes our delicious and they have open house tastings a couple times a year.
