gift returning question

I forgot about a gift I got last year and meant to return but didn't. I'm wondering if I can return it now....its from target. I realize it has been a long time so they might not be able to take it back, I of course don't have the receipt since it was a gift.

Maybe if you exchange it for something. I'd go to the customer service desk and ask before shopping.

I would talk to someone at the store's customer service counter. When I went on to their site here's what I found.

I agree with PP. Go to the customer service desk. I had an item I needed to return, I had it for about 4 months? Came to return it and they couldn't take it back because they had stopped selling it.

I think if you go there and just want store credit, they'll be more than willing to return it unless it's no longer in their system.

The issue with that is once it's gone, their computer system deletes it out unless they have a receipt and can sell it under a certain code (Lowe's is 0001) and put in the price you paid. Sadly, without a receipt they can't do anything if it's gone.

It is worth a try.  I made several returns to Target last year for items I didn't have gift receipts for and they all worked.

We had a receipt and they told us because they discontinued it/no longer sell it, we still didn't get anything. =( No store credit. Nothing. So that sucks =(

This is totally wrong but a true story if they dont take it back try Wal-Mart. My father took something back to Wal-Mart he thought he got there and they gave hime store credit he later found the receipt and he had gotten it some where else. Or try selling it

I can't take it to walmart, the tag says merona and that's a brand only target sells. If they don't give me store credit for it, I will just donate it.
