I am really struggling with our choice of room(s) for our wedding weekend. It has to be at the Aria for convenience and the fact that our weeding package comes with a cabana at the pool. What is really complicating matters is that we will have my 6 year old daughter and 8 year old soon to be step daughter with us. So we either need connecting rooms or a 2 bedroom. I also want to host an in suite get together the night before in a suite. With all that I have narrowed our options down to the following 2 choices:
Connecting rooms and adding the executive hospitality suite the night before wedding-
Pros: Cost Effective
With our room block we get a free upgrade to a corner suite which I hear are awesome!
We would have an extra room the night before for either FI or I to stay in and also would be nice to have a room seperate for the kids to crash should the party run past thier bed time (which it inevitably will) My mom could take the kids back to their room while we continue the party
Cons: While we do have the upgrade to the corner suite and it does have a connecting room option, they cannot gaurantee it. Now they say they will flag it and post notes about traveling with young children, getting married, etc. but their "inventory is limited" and "anything can happen" I'm just not sure we want that stress on our wedding weekend.
We would have to check in to the hospitality suite on Friday and move things over (i.e. the beverages we are bringing in) Probably not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things but again this is where kids will slow you down . . . . Oh and then there is the clean up and check out the next day which is wedding day!
2 Bedroom Penthouse Sky Suite-
Pros: We would be getting a very generous discount on this room that makes it actually affordable. It would still be a splurge but a realistic one
Free coffee in the lounge (I am a caffiene addict)
Only 1 check in and check out
Cons: Based on pictures I am worried that the room is small and chopped up. The hospitality suite definately has more open entertaining space.
Concerned about getting guests up to the room for the meet and greet since access is limited to Sky Suite guests.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated! FI is pretty set on the 2 bedroom penthouse. Probably because he knows I get stressed and just wants things to go as smoothly as possible. Keep in mind our timeline for the night of the meet and greet is limited since we have dinner with the family scheduled prior to the in suite reception with all guests so any little hiccup with checking in to a second room could throw me into a tizzy.
