@tuarceatha, I haven't had my hair cut since my hair trial. Which was on March 27th. I feel you. My hairdresser insisted we be friends on facebook and I was totally okay with that until it meant I realized we have NOTHING in common. So, that's awkward. He also didn't charge me for my wedding day hair. He's super sweet and I like him, but we have no similar interests. I'm terrified it's going to be awk when I go in next time...

@audrewuh I haven't had a hairdresser in a long while. Last time I got it cut I went with H to Hair Cuttery and just asked them to layer it and make it THIS short. They did. I miss the days of haircuts where I felt all sorts of awesome and show-offy when I walk out. I haven't had a cut like that in forever. Here's hoping all Amandas surpass high expectations!

@tuarceatha I haven't had a hair cut in awhile where I felt all show-offy I need one but for now I'm only getting trims to let my hair grow out for the wedding.

@Peaseblossom55 I did that! I grew it out for the wedding. I actually was browsing all sorts of old photos and realized most of my adult life I've had "long" hair. I used to wear it long because I though it help make me look slimmer. I dunno that it did, but now I just get lazy/cheap/uncomfortable with booking a hair appt. and my hair grows longish.

@Tuarceatha my hair has been long most of my life too.  As I've gotten older I prefer keeping it shoulder length so it's killing me now that it's longer than that.

I'm so excited for TX! TBH, it hasn't totally sunk in the I'm going - I feel somewhat irresponsible for booking it, but I keep telling myself that 1) if I don't get a full time job by then/if my unemployment has run out by then, well, I'd better have figured out my backup plan by then or 2) if I actually get a full time job, at least I can tell them about this important impending trip right from the get-go. I also have had happy daydreams about drinking/hanging out with you guys and then hearing cha-ching after cha-ching from the Etsy app on my phone cuz, you know, business will be booming by then and I can get work done from anywhere :-)

A "polar vortex" is the media's way of saying there's one huge cold snap. I heard Al Roker refer to it as like a "polar hurricane" and the meteorologist part of my brain nearly snapped.

According to the meteorologists I work with, it's something that happens every year -- cold air from the north pole (polar) gets spun down across Canada and the U.S. Midwest by the spinning of the globe (vortex) and we get blasts of cold air.

I'm not sure why it suddenly became a buzz word or whatever, but it did. And it annoys me.
