I have been searching for a photographer for awhile now and need some help! Does anyone have any suggestions for a photographer with more of a photo journalistic style. Thanks.

We are using shalista out of Pierre. She does awesome and is reasonable compared to others that did the same type of work in the SF area. Can check her stuff out at Shalista.com

I agree that Shalista and Jael are probably two of the best SD photographers, although both hover around the $3000 mark. Bella Luce is probably one of the better values in the Sioux Falls area, at about $2000 for two photographers and copyright. Studio LB is Laura Brunner, Jael's previous assistant. First pkg at $1800, and includes album, but not printing rights. I thought really hard about Sierra Kristen Photography out of Maine--I realize that sounds crazy, but she is offering discounted wedding photography ($1200 + plane ticket) to come to SD to visit family a few times a year. In fact, she'll be around in October sometime. Also, Kellywendell.com is a family friend that does cute work. I have spent an incredible amount of time looking for a bargain/quality ration, because I'm a photo snob (I love fabulous photos and color). I think I may end up with a couple guys out of Minneapolis that do a ton of second shooting for big name photographers up there, but cost less than their big name counterparts. Gorgeous color, graphic design/creative background...Geneoh! photography is one of them. The other doesn't have an active website.
