No make-up = Don't care... huh?

Re: No make-up = Don't care... huh?

  • I rarely wear makeup. Its kinda pointless considering my line of work. But sometimes I'll wear it for special occasions or when FI takes me out for a date night.
  • I wear makeup every day but I don't judge or side-eye women who don't. I just personally prefer to go out of the house with makeup on.

It usually takes me 5-10 minutes before work to do it, it's not an insanely long process for me.

  • @PrettyGirlLost @loves2shop4shoes - I got the Naked3 for Christmas and I love it SO much. For the most part I'd only wear eyeshadow when going out-out but since I got that palette, I've been wearing it everyday everywhere.

  • I don't wear makeup unless it's a special occasion. I don't like it at all and usually end up rubbing it oddly because I'm not used to it. Husband doesn't like makeup either, so it's nbd.

@Pumpkinsandturkeys - I do that too. If I'm going out for something special and I have time or I'm bored with nothing to do I'll research a new style and spend a long time trying it. That's when make-up is fun for me.

I'd rather sleep an extra 10 minutes in the morning than worry about my make-up. I'm also not as good with it as I'd like to be so putting a lot on for work makes me feel almost like a clown.

  • First of all: Rude.

Second of all: I wear make up every day...that I'm not just spending the day with my Fi. He's made it known that he LOVES how I look without make up, so me not wearing make up is actually a special occasion. Which pretty much stands to reason that me not wearing make up means that I care about him (and his opinion) more than when I DO wear it.

He's with you because he loves you. And part of what makes you YOU is that you don't wear make up every day. Part of what makes you YOU is what you DO choose to spend your time and energy on. Part of what makes you YOU is so much more about what you put on your skin.

I think I'm going to start wearing make up everyday once I get mine in the mail, lol.  Plusalso my Mom was giving me shit for owning a bunch of make up and not wearing it accept once a week or so.

  • That's hypocritical! You should tell her maybe she doesn't care about her husband because she doesn't wear makeup. Some people...

I usually don't wear too much makeup, sometimes I don't wear any. My FI doesn't care either way, but sometimes there's days you want to feel pretty, depending on the mood you're in. Example: Today I'm in an amazing mood. I wore makeup, and earrings that match my shirt, even socks that matched. I made a joke to a co-worker about it and she made some snarky comment like, "Oh, you put in an extra effort!" I was just like, really?
Yes it is hypocritical but I am not going to play her game and stoop to her level. I just laughed.

Oh no! My husband never wears make-up when we leave the house! He doesn't love meeeeeeee......

See? It doesn't work if you reverse it. Fuck the patriarchy.
Lol. I agree. I would be very scared if my fiancé started wearing make-up

    100% agree
  • Ok, I'm certified as a makeup artist, I love makeup, I wear it as frequently as I can because I LOVE applying it, and even I think it's stupid to suggest not wearing makeup means you "Don't care."    My fiancé sees me with makeup a lot, but he also sees me without makeup.  Doesn't mean I care more about him on some days more than others, it just means that some days I feel like putting colored powder on my face and other days I don't.
As much as I enjoy makeup and love it as an art form, I feel really strongly that it should never be something you depend on to feel good or show you care.  It makes me sad when others don't see it that way.  There are so many things to draw your sense of confidence and pride from, why focus on something you wash off at the end of the day?
