NWR: Mini-Intro/Made Me Laugh

Okay so I've commented several times here and various spots on various posts/forums but have never introduced myself...plus I have something that made me laugh today.

I'm Katie, 22 and I'm getting married to my FI, Lee, in almost exactly 4 months (5/10/14) and am in "holy shit I have to plan all these details" mode. Huge FSU fan (we won the nat'l championship! Wooo!) and have the best/worst Golden Retriever ever named Loomis. (He's super sweet but marginally insane/neurotic...with really bad depth perception).

What made me laugh today is that I'm working at my dad's office (between jobs and helping him out) and doing filing when I realized one of the filing cabinets had files "Di-E" as the label. I hope it's not trying to tell me something!!!

So, has anyone else had something today (or this week) that's made you laugh?

Welcome! And yay, 4 months is exciting!! I'm a couple weeks before you, April 26. Time definitely goes fast!

And I actually did have something funny (to me at least) happen. Last night one of the socks I was wearing got caught on a nail or something, so when I moved my foot, it yanked the sock right off. I immediately started laughing so hard it brought tears to my eyes. FI was already in the bed so he didn't know what was going on, he only heard me laughing at the top of the stairs so he thought I was crazy....I probably laughed for a good couple minutes in bed after it happened too!

It's my sister's birthday today, and a lot of her feed was popping up on my page. One of her friends wrote "Happy Birthday, Bestie!" on her FB, but I read it as "Happy Birthday, Beastie!". I laughed uncontrollably for about a minute and a half, realized my mistake, then laughed for another 2 or 3 minutes.

Welcome and congrats! I'm getting married a couple of weeks after you. Have you checked out our May 2014 board (can't remember if I've seen you there or not)? The ladies there are great!

Laugh moment of the week- one of my kitties was trying to be cute, uncurling herself on the bed and "reaching" for me for petting. Problem was she misjudged how close she was to the edge, and ended up falling off. Cats do not always land on their feet.

Laugh at my expense- support staff member coming up to me with a huge stack of discs, saying there's several thousand documents on the discs that need my review, and it must be done by Friday. He let me sweat for a few minutes, then to my relief, said he was kidding. I nearly beat him with the walking cane I've been using due to nerve inflammation in the leg.

Chipmunk- I just cracked up laughing! Fuzzybutts are the best. We took our dog up to work today and he bounced off a doorframe... Such elegant and graceful pets we have!

HisGirl- Very cool! I like coincidences like that...they're always fun

Pumpkinsandturkeys- Yes! All of the goodies! I have a bottle of Malbec waiting for me at home...mmmmmmmm yum!

My fave Malbec was on sale at Costco for, like, $6...soooo I stocked up...and now I'm afraid my recycling bin will make my garbage men and neighbours judge me. Another #firstworldwinoproblem

@Klc09d Yes, sadly, there is work tomorrow My manager has made it clear that she doesn't care if we're hungover at work (we have a very relaxed work environment), but the idea of feeling like death while being at work is not appealing haha.

I wish I could get wine that cheap! I live in Ontario and they tax the crap out of ours, so the lowest-price wine we have is about $9 and it's bitter, acidic, and just gross. If I don't spend at least $13 - $20 a bottle, I can't get anything decent.

@pumpkinsandturkeys I think working while hungover is one of the worst days I could imagine. Ugh! But you're lucky to have an understanding boss!

And holy crap that's crazy about the taxes. This wine is usually about $10 or so and so when I saw it on sale I was like "SCORE!" I'm such a fan of sales...especially when it's wine...or beer.

Hello Your filing cabinet photo made me laugh. I'm currently struggling with files so I'd like some of them or a whole cabinet to die.

Between the avatar craziness yesterday and this thread about wine I think I'm going to crack a bottle open right when I get home. Our wine/alcohol cupboard is so full we can't fit anything else in there. I blame H who has several half empty bottles of the same thing but I've been too lazy to combine them into one bottle plus I feel like drinking it would be the better option to make room.
