Southeastern CT Vendors

Hi Everyone! I am getting married at Rocky Neck State Park in Niantic, CT, on October 4, 2014, and so far I have only found the ceremony/reception site and the caterer (which was from a list of approved vendors). I have been doing some research about photographers and DJ's and I was wondering if there are any you would recommend that are local to southeastern CT or who are used often in this area.     We're using Tim Brown (TAB Photographic) for our photographer- he travels all over the state http://www.tabphotographic.com/

    We're using Hollywood Enterprises DJ- they're out of Waterbury but will travel all over (and have really great pricing) https://www.facebook.com/HollywoodEnterprises

    Stefanie Kapra Photography!  She is an amazing photographer and such a sweetheart.  And for a DJ, if you're lucky enough to get DJ JD people will be dancing all night long.

    If you're getting married at Rocky Neck, make sure to get a Day of Coordinator of sorts because there is no event planner on site, we're getting married at the Branford House and from what I understand the two are similar, we're using Perfect Circle Occasions and I know they've coordinated a wedding at Rocky Neck before. For a DJ, I've heard good things about Zach Duphanis and also RIPP Entertainment, we're using a new photographer, Mama Behind the Lens Photography- she's super affordable because she's trying to build her portfolio!     My photographer has a recommended vendor list on her website.  Krista is located in Southeastern CT and we used many of the vendors she had listed and we LOVED them, especially Jason aka DJ Malee.  The link is below, good luck!!

    We our using Michael Orzell as our photographer. He's out of Waterbury. 

    Our DJ is Kevin Koschel. He just did one of my good friends weddings in October. He does DJing on the side and his pricing is very reasonable. He's out of Sandy Hook.

    I highly recommend Leah from It's So Ranunculous flower shop. Her prices were the BEST, she is awesome, and let me use some of her "rustic" jars and bottles for free. http://itssoranunculus.com/ I believe they do weddings at Rocky Neck often. 

    I also highly recommend Eric Brushett Photography. Works out of New Haven, and I am sure he has been to Rocky Neck, it is a beautiful venue. http://www.ericbrushettphoto.com/

    Thank you all for the recommendations! Apparently my date is popular because a lot of people are already booked. I am considering the wedding coordinator... any idea what that would cost?

    Our Day of Coordinator is a newer company, but they rock! Right now they are charging 500$ for a day of coordination package, they are trying to build up their portfolio. They have wonderful references that I contacted and so far I've been super impressed, the name is Perfect Circle Occasions. I know they did a wedding at Rocky Neck in July.     I used Jen Strunk, she was great and worth every penny.  Very affordable too.

    Day of coordinator friends have used Kia of Estocassions and Jen Strunk.  Photographer we are using Val McCormick, she is our favorite vendor and already has gone above and beyond! She did several of our friends weddings, her work is amazing.

    I used Kia from ESTOccasions too!  We used her for full planning but worth it.  Like her on facebook and you will see when she has sales too.
