How many bridesmaids are too many???

I'm in a bit of a pickle some might say... I was really tipsy one night and asked one of my friends to be a bridesmaids, the thing is she wasn't on my list. You see my list already has 8 girls which includes my closest friends and sisters, with her it would make it 9 an uneven number! What should I do???? I feel so mean telling her not be a bridesmaid but when I think of 10 bridesmaids... it's soo many!! (cause I would have to make it even right?) aaaaah... Please Help! Is 10 too much??

Re: How many bridesmaids are too many???

  • Why does it need to be an even number?
  • I think it depends on how many people are going to be attending the destination wedding. You probably wouldn't want half of your guests standing up there with you. I am having 5 where I am having about 60 guests
  • I read in one of the wedding planning guides that it's approximately 1 bridesmaid for every 35-50 guests.

I don't think it's very nice to un-ask someone to be your bridesmaid.. but like @saric83 said, it doesn't matter if it's an even/odd number!
  • Well my Fiance and I have half of our family in Mexico that's why we decided to do it in Puerto Vallarta so they could attend and our family here could just travel there. Right now we have approximately 250 guest coming from the states and including Mexico but the number can always change I hope less lol I wanted a small wedding but our families think otherwise. I guess I always thought it should be an even number but if it's not that's good and with that many guest 9 or 10 is not that bad lol Thanks for your help ladies! :)
