Strapless, backless gown-bra help!

Has anyone had any luck with adhesive bras? My dress is too low in the back for a low back bra, so I'm thinking adhesive route? Thoughts? Brands?

  • I've never had a wonderful experience with an adhesive bra. Not enough support or stickiness when you're moving around and sweating all day.

Have you talked to your seamtress about ideas? What about a longline bra or getting cups sewn in?

I used a NuBra-type bra (not a NuBra, but same basic thing, bought it at Fred Meyer).  It did work pretty well.  However, it didn't give a ton of support - I haven't worn it since.  It basically held the girls in place, kept me from "showing" if I got chilled and gave me the proper shape.  What actually held them up where they should be was the structure in my dress.  As I said, I haven't worn it since.  I've tried it on with a couple boat-neck tops and those tops are just regular tops - soft fabric, no boning - and haven't had enough structure to keep from sagging.
  • Awesome, thank you. Getting cups sewn in sounds like the best bet! Although, I don't feel like I need a tonne of extra help, more just for piece of mind.

Are longline bras supposed to offer more support?
