Wedding Invitations & Paper

save the dates help

so we waited till the last possible minute to do save the dates my dad is supposed to take our pictures ( hes a retired wedding photographer) our wedding is in june and we need to get the pics taken and send out asap. my issue is we are in new england all the fall leaves are gone  we need a place to take the picture my mom first suggested by the christmas tree ( ours is still up) now she saying its a summer wedding a picture by the tree will look tacky.

i was thinking the park because they have a bridge that's kinda hidden in the shady area, and they also have wooden swings.

other than that i am out of ideas short of taking a picture in my house near the blank wall and having my brother whos good at graphic design photo shop something

i need some ideas i dont want to send out a generic save the date with no picture we have a good picture of us at disney land but we are posing with 2 disney characters and i think thats kinda cheezy

would love some suggestions as to what we should do we plan on taking the picture tomorrow if the weather is nice or next saturday as we have had rain for the past few days

Re: save the dates help

  • Your wedding is this June? You will be sending out your invitations in 3 months. Honestly, at this late date, I would save myself the time, trouble, and expense and just skip them.

I agree-and even if you send them out now, photos aren't necessary.
  • We are using photos from our relationship that we already had. We have been dating for 6.5 years and used ones from different points in our relationship. We are long distance right now so couldn't take photos together. We will do engagement photos to judge our photographer later (summer probably) but since we are around the holidays want to give our save the dates out before then.

  • my wedding is in 5 months so i dont see why i cant send them out now yes its going out maybe a month late but better than nothing.

i do have a great picture of me and him at disney land but again there is tigger eyore in the picture behind us i am not sure if that would be to  cheezy to send out

I agree with PPs, I think it's kinda late.  The only way I could see it making a bit of sense is if you just recently got engaged and picked a date.  Otherwise, presumably most everyone knows about the wedding date already?

No one said you can't send them out.  But some posters, including myself, just find it a waste of time and money at this stage in your wedding planning.  If you want to take the time to take additional pictures, order the prints and cards, address all the envelopes, (the same ones you will be addressing in just a few months), pay for postage, and mail them out, by all means, do.

  • i was going to do postcard type photos
  • I have to agree with some of the others. Your wedding is in 5 months so invites are going to be going out in 3 months. At this point I am sure your date has been spread via word of mouth so people know it. Honestly, anything after the 8 or 9 month mark, IMO, is too late to send a STD. Just skip them and save your money.

  • well i am sending them out my brother designed the car for me and i am having the printed out super cheep cvs around 19 cents a print. so its going to cost me about 60 dollars to print mail and send out save the dates.
