Cheap all inclusive vacations?

I'm trying to research honeymoon locations that aren't super high. Our HM budget is roughly 4,000 (for everything, flights, lodging, food, activities, passports) we would like to stay at least 5 days. (Prefer 7, but hey I'm just dreaming at that point) It doesn't necessarily have to be all inclusive, but I figure it will be easier to figure out exactly how much everything will cost that way. We would love the Bahamas but I wouldn't even know where to start besides Sandals, and I've heard mixed reviews on them and the prices can add up.

I wouldn't mind a cruise, but FI would rather go to a resort so we can spend more time on the actual islands. Doesn't have to be Bahamas... anywhere tropical. Neither of us have ever been anywhere out of the country so not really sure where to look.

Re: Cheap all inclusive vacations?

  • My suggestion would be to check out a last minute deal website, (ours is selloff vacations.com - not sure if they're American or Canadian).  If you're flexible with your dates and where you're going you should be able to find something pretty cheap.  If you find something and you're unsure of the resort, TripAdvisor it and see what's said.  I've found them to be pretty accurate.  I've heard of some pretty good deals on those sites, which I can never get due to my vacation schedule.

  • Check out the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and the Cancun/Riviera Maya areas. They have the most all inclusives to choose from and the best values. The cost of flights will vary depending on where you are flying from and the overall cost of the hotel will vary by time of year. I recommend finding a travel agent who specializes in the Caribbean and/or all inclusives to help find one for you that best suits your interests and budget. Many travel agents do not charge a fee and a good agent's connections can get you the best price and some additional perks.
