What's everyone up to?

Re: What's everyone up to?

  • I did a TON of wedding planning this weekend- met with 5 caterers, 3 bakeries, ordered save the dates, whittled down our (gigantic) guest list, consulted with the people making our invites, visited my venue, decided on our centerpiece, went to the church. Super busy. We are planning from a distance so it made sense to cram as much as possible into the weekend.

  • Fiancé, trout by candlelight, wine and dark chocolate...then a little bit of sexy time ;)
  • Got lazy and didn't get all the Christmas decorations down. The ornaments and lights are put away but the tree and train set are still taking up valuable real estate in the living room. On the plus side, my sister came over and we solved a bridesmaid dress size issue (the store only had a 2P and 4P - both girls wanted the 2P and no other stores apparently had another 2P, but one realized she'd be more comfortable in the 4P). So MOH and BM both love their dresses, I have 2 of my 3 dresses, and I don't have to drive around like a madwoman trying to find dresses for anyone!

  • Breakfast with FI and FMIL on Saturday morning, stopped at the farmers market, got some book earrings, bought some diabetic-friendly boiled sweets.

Cut the guest-list with FI. We're now at 36, including the two of us. I was really hoping to get it closer to 30 total, but that's just not going to happen.

Spoke to the venue briefly, they're available on our date. Once I've spoken money with FI and my mom, I can meet with them again and we can discuss our needs.

E-mailed Dressmaker 1 for quote on gown, haven't heard back yet. Still trying to track down details for Dressmaker 2 so I can get the same from her.

Just back from cheer practice and had a hot shower.  We totally nailed our new pyramid tonight!!  :D

ETA: @hoppersgirl25 how long is each Insanity workout??  I've heard about 45-60 min.  I'd love to do it, but not sure I can get up extra early enough to fit that in

  • @WinstonsGirl for the first month, the workouts are about 40 minutes long (longer when you have to do the added ab workout). The second month I wanna say they're about an hour long. We both did Insanity a couple years ago and had great results.  Now with the wedding 7 months away, we're back at it!  I will say it's hard and you spend a lot of time yelling at Shaun T, but after each workout you feel amazing!

  • Hmm.  I can workout in the morning, but not so motivated after work.  I also train with cheer and lift weights several times a week.  Would that muck up the schedule too??  I wouldn't want to do Insanity when I have a cheer practice that night I think.  :)

I would say if you dont want to do the actual insanity workout schedule you could still just do the workout since its AWESOME. I would also suggest picking up Shawn T's Rockin Body workout..that one is not so intense and is a lot of fun!!!
  • I'm stressing out....aka working on our invitations.  Also watching wrestling :)

Since its an everyday schedule (only one rest day per week), you could just do the workouts when they work for you. Maybe like the plyo circuit one day a week, pure cardio one day, and power cardio one day?  I was doing Insanity and Yoga Meltdown the last time I did it, but it was hard for me to follow a routine doing both. Also I was always super sore!  I ended up following Insanity and doing yoga meltdown only on the rest day (YM level 2) and the "cardio recovery" day (YM level 1).
