Invites/Announcements

Hey all!!
I am getting married in May in Jamaica! I was just planning on sending out an announcement after the wedding, but my mom would like us to send one out before to friends and family that are not going....all I can find are save the dates and announcements that say "We got married" Any suggestions on that to do?

    Unless you are inviting these people to the wedding, I don't really think it's necessary to send anything before the wedding to the people who aren't going. Typically people just send save the dates. Or you can just do an engagement announcement in your local newspaper. Then once you get married you can go ahead and send everyone a wedding announcement.

    I don't get the point of that. If they've been invited, they already know you're getting married. If they aren't being invited, why send anything at all?
