Not particularly excited about the wedding

Yikes.  Having my parents plan a wedding in another country where the people I wanted to attend could not, sounds like my idea of a nightmare wedding.  However, I realize that this is normal- my husband has had many cousins get married in large weddings in India.  Most of them have planned a party in the US for after they returned from the wedding.  Is this an option?  Then you have something to plan and get excited about.  Also, your friends can attend.  Doesn't have to be big, or wedding-like at all- just a nice party for your friends here.
