So, in October FI was best man in a friend's wedding. Let's call them Tom and Kate. FI has asked Tom to be his best man too, even though several things about Tom's behavior annoyed him during Tom's wedding. He chalked it up to being a groomzilla and they are still close. Anyway, we just received the thank you card from Tom and Kate's wedding. The label has my first name spelled completely wrong - that's fine though, I am used to it, I have an Italian spelling of a name - even though they have known me for about four years and I send them holiday cards every year, I mostly glossed over it. Then I open the card, since it is addressed to both of us. Inside in Tom's writing is a note addressed only to FI for the gift. The card to them was signed from both of us (I know this because I buy and sign the cards since FI thinks I have better handwriting), so I am not sure where he got the idea that the gift was just from FI. This really really annoyed me, and I thought it was super rude.

Other things in poor taste from their wedding:
- In addition to having a bachelor party across the country (FI planned this), Tom made FI throw him a stag (this is a party where guys pay admission to get in, are fed, and are expected to bid on raffle items and buy alcohol etc. - all proceeds going to Tom. These are extremely tacky IMO but FI says that it is common among Italians in our area. My family is off the boat and no one has ever had a stag).
- Wedding was outside in late October in a cold state. Everyone was freezing. Literally - shivering could be heard in the crowd. No thought was given to the comfort of the guests.
- Tom told FI, on the day of the wedding, "Since you are best man, it is your responsibility to collect and return all the rented suits to the bridal store by Monday." No warning or head's up. Bridal store is an hour away from where FI and I live. He had to take time off from work to do this since the store closed at 5. He also spent a good amount of the wedding night and the next morning stressing about gathering the suits, many of which were missing pieces.

Maybe I am craycray but I just had to rant! FI agrees that it was in very poor taste but says, "It's Tom. He doesn't have the best etiquette".

HAPPY TUESDAY.
