Favorite part of your wedding?

What's the thing you are most excited about your wedding.

And I don't want to hear "I'm marrying my best friend."  We know.

My favorite part was surprised all of our guests at our welcome dinner with Fire Dancers.  The dinner was on the beach and they showed up out of no where.  Everyone loved it!  Even the guests in the restaurant came out to enjoy it!

It was fun!

Not to sound cliche but seeing our families interact (and have fun) was just awesome...we had been together for 8 years prior to our wedding but they had never met!

We had a winery tour and tasting in between our ceremony and reception which was really fun. People really relaxed during the (unlimited) tasting which later led to some spontaneous "karoake" to the dinner play list. Imagine a table of 22 spontaneously singing along to Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" :) One of my favorite memories that I will always hold dear.
    A winery tour sounds amazing!

  • My favorite part of my wedding was the reveal/first look it was such an intimate moment for my H and I and just pure emotion. It's something I will never forget about the night and it was probably the only thing that i didn't feel rushed during.

We're doing a winery tour inbetween, too! I'm super excited for that.

I'm also excited for cocktail hour, because we'll be able to join the last half of it after photos. We're only having about 35 people, so I'm really looking forward to interacting with everyone right after being married.

Also, seeing the flowers! I'm ridiculously excited for our flowers.

  • @pumpkinsandturkeys  We enjoyed our small wedding too and getting to connect with everyone on a very personal level
  • I really loved our ceremony. I was so nervous, my legs were shaking. But it was beautiful and very personal. I was surprised that it was my favorite part.
  • I am most excited to get wedding pictures back and make books for my parents.

  • I'm excited for showing FI my dress. We tell each other everything, and it's so hard to not show him pics of the dress!

A far as planning goes, I am so excited to have an excuse to eat cake! Was anyone else ridiculously excited for cake tasting?

  • YES! We did cupcakes and got to try like 30 different flavors! At one pointed we had tried so many I purposely said I didnt remember trying one because I liked it and wanted to try it again LOL

  • I was pretty excited about that waterfall.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • I'm looking forward to us saying our personalized vows to each other.

  • The spa day I'm planning on having the day before. Hehe.
  • Me too, rwhite!
  • We didn't have a dance :( cos we lost amplified music at 9pm, so we organized a 40 min Polynesian show as entertainment instead.  We had 6 dancers, 2 musicians, and emcee and a fire dancer, just for our wedding.  DH and I got pulled up for 1 dance, so I suppose it was our first dance together too.  The other cool thing was the people who sat out on their balcony to watch too.  One couple congratulated us after.  They said they saw the stage and figured out what was happening, so they ran out for wine and sushi and then thanked us for the show.

  • Honestly there's not much to our wedding. Short ceremony, a few toasts, lunch, cake-cutting, and then off to our honeymoon. So I think I'm probably most excited for the kiss.

My favorite part was the ceremony. We had a Quaker wedding, where people sit in silence and then stand and speak if they feel moved. I was nervous beforehand because only my husband's family was familiar with the Quaker style so I thought no one would speak. But my family members, his family members, my friends, his friends, lots of different people spoke! People who'd known us our whole lives, or only the last year. People shared the most touching thoughts with us. It was super emotional. I think pretty much everybody shed a tear. (We bawled like babies.) The feeling of love and community was so intense, it's hard to put into words.

This. My dress is sitting in a closet waiting for the big day and FI has no idea what it looks like. Not getting to show him something I am so excited about is awful. I just want him to see it!

Definitely cannot wait for cake...all the cake...
  • my favorite part will be the chocolate fountain and photo booth at the reception. My favorite part about the ceremony will be the first look I had to convince FI into.

  • It's hard to choose. I loved laughing through our ceremony.

Our food was amazing - our venue is connected to a 4-star restaurant & it's the same chef, so holy crap, was the food amazing.

Dancing every dance with H was awesome.

H sliding onto the dance floor on his knees in his tux to play air guitar to You Shook Me All Night Long resulted in one of my favorite photos.

My sister's rhyming toast was hilarious.

Getting to hang out with my best friend who flew out from Colorado was awesome.

Too much to choose from, seriously.
  • Ours is at a ski resort but in the off-season (Sept) so part of the package includes riding the chair lift during cocktail hour!! All the guests are welcome to it but only the bride and groom are allowed to get off at the top for pictures. So I can't wait to ride up in the sky holding his hand....I already told him I'm buying massive golf umbrellas because I will have that F-ing ride even if it's raining hahaha

  • I can't wait to put my dress on and wear it all day. I'm also excited to say my vows to FI. I'm really looking forward to having all of our friends together. And of course, spending the weekend at this beautiful resort.

Oh - how could I forget. EATING. I'm going to eat whatever I want all day. Ah, it's going to be so nice.
  • I was overwhelmed seeing all of the people I love in one place -- the city where I now live and very much an OOT wedding for a lot of people.  People from all the different phases of my life traveled from something like 11 different states to be at our wedding: all my aunts and uncles, childhood friends, high school friends, college friends, grad school friends, new friends and new family.

I have a BFF of 35 years.  I was her MOH years ago.  We now live in different states, only talk once in awhile and aren't as close as we used to be --- however she will always be very important to me.  It was probably 2-3 years since the last time I saw her.  When she came into the church basement to see me before the ceremony I lost it --- but in a good way!  I just felt so much love that day at one time from our loved ones and of course for each other :)

  • My favorite part?  That is a hard one.  Can I pick three?

    1) Wearing my dress!

    2) My H completely flubbing his vows multiple times and then finally having to just read them directly from our officiants "Boble" (his name was Bob and he had a book that he wrote down what needed to be said so he called it his "Boble")

    3) Getting pictures taken on the field and running around throwing the football around.

Oh and I LOVED the TTD we did the next day.  The pictures are amazing.

I'm really sad about the pictures.  Maybe I'll just photoshop another guy's face on them.

  • My highlights were seeing our guests having a blast during the reception, and all of the food was insanely good.  Hearing all of the compliments from guests and seeing pictures on facebook in the weeks following were nice too :)
  • I am most excited about all the people I care about being in the same place at the same time.  I don't live anywhere near where I grew up or went to college, so on the rare occasions that I do get to see people, i'm spread pretty thin trying to fit everyone in.  It will be a fun party!

...and wearing my dress.  I'm not busting my ass to look great on my wedding day for nothing ;)
  • The fireworks…and I mean real in the sky fireworks, not the ones on the honeymoon.
    ~xoxo~

  • What I'm most excited about is our first look. I can't wait to see FI's reaction and I'm anxious to see what my reaction will be also.  I'm also extremely excited for everyone to hear our friends' band play at the reception.  They are so amazing and I can't wait for ALL our friends and family to hear them and enjoy it!
