This drives me BONKERS!!!

I LOVE batman, it's always been one of my favorites, all the way back to the cheesy 50's tv show. I love the trilogy with Christian Bale BUT I HATE his batman voice!!!! Omg it's almost unbearable to even watch it :(

Re: This drives me BONKERS!!!

  • Yea, I'm not a fan of the voice lol. I don't hate it but it annoys me. I hated Bane's voice, I remember it was SO LOUD at the theater and hard to understand.

  • I wasn't a fan of Bane either lol but batman' sis very annoying. I also hate that they replaced Katie Holmes, I loved her as Rachel
  • I was annoyed with Katie Holmes unecessary nipples in the first movie

  • I thought I was the only one who felt this way about the "batman voice"!!  I just never understood it because in all the other Batman movies the voice was never changed from when he was Bruce Wayne and then when he was Batman.  It just always seemed so ridiculous to me.

And in regards to Bane's voice, the reason it was like that was do to the apparatus on his face keeping him alive.  I even think that they describe his voice in the comics (or so I am told by my H).

@maggie0829 that is correct about Bane's voice. I am a Batman comic lover and have been a fan since I was a kid.

I thought Bane's voice was really awesome in the movie and represented what I thought he would sound like. I am one with sensitive hearing so I didn't really have a hard time understand it. I could see how someone could have that issue when he is speaking though.

Christian Bale's voice I felt needed alteration instead of heavier breathing but I enjoyed him being Batman nonetheless.
  • See..and this is why I am a Marvel Fan...Captain America doesn't change his voice.. and neither does Iron Man...Or Wolverine or Spiderman or Mr Fantastic!

  • @aefitz29 Does Batman change his voice in the comics or is that just something that was done in the movie?

@Maggie0829 It is mentioned in several issues that he has altered his voice to a deep whisper or not to be recognizable and dark (in the presence of Vicki Vale for example). It's often described as 'cold.'

Huh, interesting.  I still don't like the voice change that Bale does but at least now I know why he did it.

Yeah it's definitely a definer for the Bruce Wayne to Batman change over since he is in the presence of those who know Bruce Wayne so often. The Joker loves to eff with Bruce Wayne's loved ones.

I am surprised that they didn't do the voice change in all the other Batman movies then since it was such a definitive piece in the comics.

  • I get changing his voice but not the voice that makes him sound like he smokes 5 packs a day lol I've never read the comics though so I thought it was just somethingn they decided to have him do in this set. Like Maggie said, I've never picked up on any of the other batmans doing it lol. That does make sense with Bane, kinda like Darth Vader. And I never noticed Katie's nipples haha
  • @maggie0829 - do you remember which movie they didn't have it changed in? All the ones I can think of they did have the actor's voice differ in depth. I just cannot remember right now...ugh!
  • Maybe it just wasn't as noticeable as Christian Bales?? Dangit! Now I have the need to a batman marathon!

I think they just aren't as awkward as Christian Bales, all the ones I remember they change. Val Kilmer, Michael Keaton....

I think that may be it because none of the others seemed all that different.  Maybe a little darker/deeper but not crazy different.

  • Definitely not Christian Bale different...lol
