Bridesmaid...ordering from a different place?

I'm a little concern on this and I'm hoping someone can ease my worries. I have a bridesmaid that can't decide if she's ordering her dress from the same store as my other bridesmaids. They are all wearing the same dress and same color.

I was told that if she orders from a different store the dress may be a different color because of the way they dye the fabric. Is this true?? Should I be concerned?

We are past the deadline for ordering dresses.

P.S. She won't tell me her reasons for not ordering from the store. She's really hard to get a hold of because she has a life and I don't want to nag her or be a pain bride. I've even offer to foot the bill for anyone who couldn't afford a dress right now and they could pay me back later so I can't see that as the problem.

Typically, it is fine to choose a dress for your BMs to wear as long as it is within their budget (you should have talked to each BM in private about it and then went with the lowest budget).  However, any other required accessory/hair/makeup should be purchased by you (without a 'pay me back later' deal) because it is not a necessary expense for the BMs to make.  Also, shoes are kind of personal and people vary on their style and comfort levels.(ie. if you had asked me to wear a stiletto, I would most likely end up with a broken ankle).  However, you could easily say "Please wear black formal shoes" and that would be fine for them to either wear what they already have or to go buy new shoes that they will like and wear again.

  • Your bridal store wants the girls to order their dresses all together to make their commission.  Dye lots are not as big as deal as they used to be, since dyes are mixed via computer now and not by hand.  So let her get the dress where she wants.
  • I'm sorry but that's not what I was asking. They picked the dress themselves and the price. I had nothing to do with it. I privately offered to each one to pay for the dress if a problem arose when it came time to order.

They have no shoe, make up or jewelry requirements.

My question was, if she orders from a different store will the color matter?

Ahhh! Okay! That's what I was wondering but I didn't know for sure. She was pushing back the order for the other girls and they wanted me to "handle it" so their dresses would arrive in time since we are already past the deadline.
  • the dye lots could be off depending on the designr i got belosie by jasmine for my bridesmades and they all had to order from my salon because of the dye lots would be off.

maybe she found the dress cheaper elsewhere i know pearls place was offering  30% off the same dress my girls picked out and the salon where my out of state maids lived also had 30% off  but we ended up getting it from my salon.

Go ahead and tell your bridal salon to get the order placed for the other dresses.  You don't need to tell the salon that your one BM is buying the dress elsewhere.  Just tell them to go ahead and place the order as is.
