Hello!

Sorry if this question has already been answered, I've been looking through some of the posts but haven't quite found what I'm looking for....

I'm getting married in Genoa City next summer, it's about the same distance from Milwaukee to Chicago. I was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations for photographers?

I'm looking for a combination of photojournalism and traditional photos under $2000, preferrably with an engagement session thrown in. I wonder if this is asking too much? I feel like Wisconsin photographers might be a little more reasonably priced than ones based right in Chicago, but I could be wrong.

    I am using Heather Kessler photography out of Stevens Point Wisconsin.  She is very willing to travel and has excellent pictures!  I'm spending 2600 and getting tons however she does have packages that cost less.  I'm recommending her because I just think shes that great!  Here is her website:

    Magdelena Photography is great.  I'm from Twin Lakes and am getting married in Lake Geneva, and we interviewed her but decided to go with another photographer.  I don't know what your budget is, but we're spending about $1,800 on a Chicagoland photographer called Fred Fox.

    I have the BEST photographer in mind!  My husband and I just had Red Gecko Studio from Madison, WI and feel so blessed to have found her!!
    Mandie went above and beyond for our wedding and produced high quality pictures and memories that will last forever!  Photographers are too expensive to not be happy with what you get and she was worth EVERY penny!

    We are using Sarah Bohl out of Elm Grove, WI. The package we selected is 1650 (the most basic package she offers). It includes all day coverage and an engagement session. Her website is sarahbohlphotography.com

    I would recommend Karen Davis www.foto-29.com She is amazing!  I believe her prices are negotiable

    Watch out for studios like Fred Fox.  It's hard to know the "who" and "what" will be there that day. Also, ask to look at all the images of several weddings from the photographer, not just the finished album so that you can see their true style. 

    That said, yes, Milwaukee might give you a better deal, and you can probally get engagement thrown in. You are not over reaching. It's a tough economy, including for photography. I suggest bridal shows for ideas, and show specials.  Just don't book at the show, make appointments.

    I am using M Lane images out of Lake Geneva for my Kenosha wedding. 

    So far our engagement pictures rock, I can't wait for the wedding pics

    Blue Bamboo- www.milwaukeeonfilm.com. They just had a price increase to right around $1000 for three peoples work for 10 hrs.... we got in when they just started so we are paying aboue $600...

    Samantha Cole - she is out of sauk, WI but willing to travel. She is amazing and is out on her own. Her gallery doesn't have all her wedding work but you will be able to tell from her engagement stuff she is amazing. She personally does all the pictures so you know that she will be the one working with from beginning to end and we love her. She is $1000 and includes the engagement in that - she charges a little to travel that distance but its well worth it since she charges way less than other photographers of her caliber! Good Luck!

    Paul Sweitzer Photography - wonderful pictures!  Free engagement session...
    all film photography, which made a HUGE difference on our beautiful sunny day, where digital cameras didn't work out so well inside some venues....

    I'm using Gretchen with Faith Photography.  Her package is $2600 and is pretty much all inclusive.  Her work is amazing, and she is the nicest girl ever!

    I just booked Katie Toman Photography to photograph our wedding. Nice thing is is she owns and photographs all the weddings herself. What I liked was her priing and the creativity of her portfolio.
