Struggling to settle on wedding colors b/c of dress availability

My wedding won' t be until the late summer/early fall of 2015 but I would like to settle on colors for the wedding sooner than later so call my inspiration I gather can fit the palette.  My FI and I have talked about colors a little bit and both mentioned we would like a dark green as one of the colors.  I went on DB site just to get a quick idea of what kinds of dresses would be available in a darker green.  They have a color listed they call Holly that seems to be the right color, but there are no dresses available in that color.  Which leads me to my questions:

I know little to nothing about fashion, but I noticed DB keeps advertising that their Spring 2014 line is now out.  Do their colors drastically change from season to season?  Is the color I'm looking for likely to be more widely available in fall collections?

Perhaps my BMs shouldn't wear dark green for their dresses.  Can you recommend colors that would be more easy to find dresses in that would complement a palette that starts with dark green?

This is my first post and I apologize if I'm not phrasing my questions very well or asking a repeat.  Any advice on improving future posts would be appreciated as well.  Thank you guys in advance for your advice and opinions!

  • Most importantly, welcome to TK! You'll hear a lot of different advice from people, but I would say that before choosing your colour palette, you may consider choosing your venue. I've been to a few weddings where the colour palette simply did not fit the venue (think red carpet with an aqua and pale yellow palette).

I haven't noticed that colours change from season to season, given models are usually available in an array of colours, but I could be way off on that lol.

As for a colour palette that could include dark green… in my opinion, neutrals would be very elegant and classy. Good luck!!!!

  • I might be blind and just missing something, but is there any way to get one of those Alfred Angelo dresses outside of Canada?

Alfred angelo has locations in the US as well, not sure why the website comes up for which province you are in.. did that to me too.  Try google searching alfred angelo locations

Edit:  I just realized the link posted above is alfredangelobridal.ca not alfredangelo.com, that's why it is showing Canadian locations
