I purchased a dress before i started to plan my wedding. well now it just doesnt fit in my rustic theme. so now that im doing a rustic wedding i dont want to spend thousands on a dress that is just going to get dirty and i found this website preownedweddingdresses.com and i wanted to know about peoples personal experiences.

I bought my dress from this website, but I had tried the exact dress on at a salon prior to purchasing online.  I also worked out a 'return policy' with the seller in case there was something wrong that wasn't shown in pictures.  I definitely recommend... I saved 50% on my dress.

I sold a dress on recycledbride.com (now tradesy.com), which is similar to preownedweddingdresses.com.  Most of the dresses on those sites are from brides who changed their mind, or, they are selling their once worn dresses.  I think you can get fabulous deals.   You just have to be careful that you aren't buying from a knockoff seller.  Check the location of the gown. Ask for pictures of the actual dress they are selling (not just a designer stock photo). 

You can even ask the seller to send you a photo of the dress with something in the photo so you know they didn't just pull a copy of the dress off the internet somewhere.  Like a ransom photo. Have them hold up a sign with the date and something "photos for Shorty". 

If you want to be extra careful, you can also use an escrow service for payment.  There are escrow companies that charge a fee to do the money exchange, but they don't release the money until both parties are satisfied.

I am torn on this but make sure that you know exactly what you're getting and make sure they have plenty of information about the dress.

I've heard lots of good things about the site in general, but just like purchasing on any other platform where you're purchasing from individuals (craigslist, eBay, etsy, etc.) you need to ask lots of questions, make sure everything is well documented, take precautions (like using your CC with the most consumer-friendly policies) and be willing to walk away before purchasing if something feels off.

thanks everyone it seems like if i do it right i can get my perfect dress for a good deal. now i know what to ask and look for!

if they dresses are on dress forms make sure they have pictures of all angels of the dress and ask to see the inside tag i was on there yesterday for the fun of it just surffing ( already got my dream dress) and i found some that said inspired gowns it was a company using an address somewhere in nj making dresses that are inspired by the real deal.. stay away from those

also stay away from really expensive dresses that the seller wants little to no money for could be a china outlet
