I posted this over on the Nest, but I actually thought I may have more luck with you ladies :)

DH and I are approaching our 1 year anniversary and I am putting together a slideshow of still pictures and video clips to music in the background (starting with the wedding and going from there).

Our first dance song was "Make You Feel My Love" (original Bob Dylan but we used the Adele cover) so I would like to start with that. For the second song I'm looking for something a little more sweet/lighthearted/fun. Right now I'm thinking of using either "The Way I Am" by Ingrid Michaelson or "Lucky" by Jason Mraz.

Just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions?

    Our "special songs" at our wedding were "You Are" (Lionel Richie), "Inseparable" (Natalie Cole), and "Always and Forever" (Heatwave).  We obviously have a fondness for 80's R&B lol.  

    But I'm a musician, so I can probably give you ideas.  What style of music are you looking for specifically?  I'm seeing a trend of pop/folk with your song choices.  Are you up for something other than that?  There are some really run jazz tunes that might be good, or I can come up with other things along the lines of what you have going now.

    I guess I do tend to sway more that direction with love songs in particular :)

    Right now, as options, I have it narrowed down to...
    Everything - Michael Buble
    A Thousand Years - Christina Perri
    Everybody - Ingrid Michaelson
    The Way I Am - Ingrid Michaelson


    Any opinions as to which would go best with "Make You Feel My Love"? We have both always liked "Everything", but I also love the airness that "Everybody" has to it.

    ... Maybe I should nix our first dance song and just do these two..  aahhhh.

    Ok, I have this thing against Everything, but that's just me and years of singing weddings since that song came out.  What was your first dance song?

    I was originally going to use this in our wedding but I think it is so overdone/overused now.

    I love Chris Isaak, Wicked Games but that is more of a sex song.

    Me too!  We almost used this for a first dance song, but in the end we decided it was just a tad too fast in spots and we didn't want to have to do anything other than a middle school sway.  :D  It would be perfect for a slideshow though.

    Just to name a few of my favorites!  The first one would be perfect to have playing as you walk down the isle to your groom, I want to do that..but I also don't want to cry my eyes out lol
