  • I've been seriously thinking about laying off the coffee for a couple weeks now and drinking more tea. Does anyone have a favorite tea they like to drink in the morning?

    E- Oatmeal and coffee

    L- more leftovers...quinoa

    D- Stromboli noms!

    E- CrossFit

  • @southernpeach89 - I'm back on coffee but I love Tazo Zen Green Tea. It's reasonably priced and available at the grocery store, Target, Starbucks, Amazon, etc.

  • @southernpeach89 - In the morning for tea I like:  apple cinnamon; apple cranberry; orange spice; (regular) black tea; chai.  In the afternoon I like a sweet mint tea.

    B:  Granola bar & coffee w/creamer
    L:  Soup ?
    D:  Cereal
    S:  Fruit, crackers
E:  none - I'm super drained still and just want a pillow, blankie, and teddy bear

I probably won't stick to this and will make poor decisions because that's what I do when I'm super tired like this!

  • @southernpeach89 - my favorite teas are currently a peach-ginger that I found at Panera (I forget the brand), orange pekoe (hard to find now), and Tazo's Passion Tea.  YUM.  oh, and I also LOOOOOOVE white jasmine tea.  it's so yummy, especially if you like a light taste.

B:  leftover cabbage and mushrooms, 2 eggs, 1/4 avocado; coffee with like 3 drops of whole milk

L:  ST crockpot kalua pork, a little scoop of white rice, and a ton of cabbage and mushrooms; blood orange

    S:  cashews and an apple

D:  leftover ST shepherd's pie, roasted green beans

    WO:  Insanity Recovery Week workout
  • @CocoBellaF - How was the shepherd's pie?

  • Thanks for the suggestions! We bought a couple different flavors so I'm going to try them out to see which one I like. I've had the passion tea at starbucks before and I love it! I also love chai tea with some milk in it.
  • @Swazzle - it was good, but I made a few tweaks.  I added some red wine to the filling (YUM), but I think it is missing something.  maybe more Worcestershire sauce (again?)  I don't know.  H loved it though, gave it a 9 or 10 out of 10.  I also added garlic powder to the potato part because they were a tad bland.  I might add a sprinkling of parm cheese on top next time!
  • OH!  and I'm down 4 lbs from my high weight a week or two ago, and only 2 lbs away from my pre-Insanity weight.  THANK GOD.  I'm almost there.  then I have to LOSE weight the second month.  so mad that I gained that much (not in muscle) the first month, but oh well.  lesson learned.
  • B: Bagel (7) and cream cheese (2), coffee (0)

    S: Banana (0)

L: half a tilapia fillet (3), broccoli and cheese patty (2), some sort of veggie (0), dessert (4)

D: We have lots of leftovers to eat so it will either be ginger pork (9) or chicken and gnocchi soup (10)

E: Dragging my ass to the gym during lunch for 30 minutes of cardio and then hot yoga for an hour and a half tonight.

    Total: 29ish/31

  • @CocoBellaF - Way to go on the loss! That's really awesome!

I just added the ingredients for the Kalua Pork to my ZipList. I'm think I'm going to make it on Saturday when we have friends over for dinner. Any tips or changes I should make for that?

  • @Swazzle - honestly, I don't add the liquid smoke.  I just cut off the big hunk of fat from the side, throw it in there with a bunch of sea salt or pink Himalaya salt, and let it go anywhere from 18-22 hours.  Monday night I turned it on before I went to bed and we ate around 6:30, so it was on 21-22 hours.  I don't think you can overcook this!  I even through it in there partially frozen.  it's the EASIEST meat/entree EVER.  it makes enough for us to eat it for dinner twice (with rice and veggies) and for lunch leftovers twice.  I've also done it with lettuce wraps and over a salad, but my favorite is with rice or a rice medley and lots of stir-fried veggies.  we'll be having the leftovers on Thursday.

oh!  it would also be wonderful on a crusty baguette as a sandwich.  I might make that for H when we have it tomorrow night again, since we have a random sourdough baguette just hanging out in the kitchen.

I don't feel like I can really "celebrate" the loss.  I've had several half-meltdowns about the gains.  I'm just relieved it's coming off at all.  I'll start celebrating when I lose from my pre-Insanity weight!
  • B-hot chocolate, oatmeal and a banana

L- homemade vegetable and sweet potato soup

    S-apple

D-not sure depends if I have rehearsal tonight. Possibly homemade falafel and rice, or some pasta and marinara sauce

    S- wine and pita chips

E- if I have rehearsal two hours of dancing, if no rehearsal an abs workout

    Anniversary

  • @Swazzle - I'm trying the ST Easy Macaroni Casserole next week.  I'm excited because I'm going to double it like I did the shepherd's pie, so we can eat it twice (LESS COOKING!  LESS DISHES!) and it has lots of veggies stuffed into it.  have you had it yet?
  • @CocoBellaF - I have! I made it at the end of last week and I'm still eating the leftovers! It's really yummy! I will chop the mushrooms up way better next time because H doesn't like mushrooms and he swears he can taste them in the dish (I'm 100% sure he just saw one and decided that he can taste it).

  • we are 'shroom lovers and I am lazy, therefore they will not be chopped.  ;)  thanks for the tip, though.  if I'm doubling it, do I need to double the cheese you think?  the pan is pretty giant.  any changes you'd make?  I'm going to serve it with roasted brussels one day and roasted green beans the other day.
  • Yesterday I stayed on track and was very pleased with myself...if I could do that every day it would be great.
