Wedding 7 months away...

And I still need to get a dress! How long did it take for your dress to be ready after you ordered it? And how long did it take for your bridesmaid dresses to be ordered in?

Re: Wedding 7 months away...

  • I ordered my Dress in September and I got it in December but I was told it wouldn't be in until February.

For my BMs we went through Alfred Angelo and they got theirs pretty quickly (around 2 months).

Depending on where you get your dress and which designer you go with you may have to pay a rush order fee to get it in on time.

I ordered my Maggie Sottero in July. I received it in October, though they said I shouldn't expect it before December.

Edited: I wanted to add that my bridesmaids bought their dresses from Nordstrom.com and got them in a week.

  • That's all I need to know! Thanks so much. I can pay for a rush, I was just scared that there was a specific time frame that they won't come in any faster because of alterations & such!
  • I ordered mine in February and got it in March.

  • I ordered my dress (Larazo) in late August and had it in late Feb. My BM dresses (Lula Kate) were ordered in October and I had them in Feb.

  • I purchased a dress off the rack, and I actually found that there was a good deal in selection of off the rack dresses at several stores I visited. I got Tevolio BM dresses from target and they took about 8 days to get in.

  • I ordered my dress in late October and it arrived yesterday (from Australia)
  • mori lee is good designer when my dress was ordered in nov it was in like a month and a half later. some designers have popular gowns in stock if they have your size and color in stock it ships out asap if not they will have to put a rush on it
  • It depends on the designer.  Some dresses will arrive in weeks, but others will take months. I have a friend who waited for her Maggie Sottero dress for 4.5 months.   You need to order SOON.
  • I ordered mine in December, it arrived about 3 weeks later.
  • My dress was actually a Wtoo bridesmaid's dress and it took about two months.

  • I ordered in January (watters) and received it in May. I agree with PP that you should order soon!
  • Mine took five months to come in. That was standard delivery, non rushed. You should also factor in six weeks for alterations. I would  start looking ASAP it would be awful to fall in love with a dress that won't come in time.
