Gifts for inlaws?

Do they get gifts? If yes. Any ideas what?

Re: Gifts for inlaws?

  • Generally, from what I understand, each child takes care of getting their parents gifts.

  • A photo in a nice frame from the wedding is always a solid choice in my book

  • We gave both sets of parents a photo album of the wedding.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

My FI and I are giving both sets of parents a portrait of us from the day of. We have the picture spot blank for right now but we're going to be presenting the frames to them at the Rehearsal dinner. Surrounding the empty picture spot are 8 pictures, 4 pics on either side of where the wedding picture is going to be.

The 4 pictures on either side is a pic of me and FI in various stages of our youth, by ourselves, coming together to show us in a wedding picture of the both of us.

We're having an engraving added to the bottom of the frame that says Mr. and Mrs. to both frames.

Hope that all made sense. His parents are very sentimental and LOVE pictures of their kids.
