Alterations Possible??

I just ordered my wedding dress! However, I have put on a little holiday weight (5-10 lbs) that I hope to have off  (and then some! Hopefully about 20 lbs) by the time of the wedding. I have lost thi weight before and gone down about 1-2 sizes.  They took my measurements as they are now, and I am worried the dress will be way too big when I go in for my fitting. A picture is shown below. The top of the dress has lots of lace, and an embellished belt (not shown in picture).  Will the top of the dress be able to be taken in if I do lose the weight? I worry the lace and beadwork will make it difficult. (The lace has some beading and I replaced the simple belt with a rhinestone one). I hope someone can tell me I don't need to worry!
The dress is silk dupioni underneath with english net and alencon lace if that influences it at all.

Re: Alterations Possible??

  • The dress is beautiful  Usually, a good seamstress can take a dress in 1-2 sizes without problem.  but if you are really concerned, call the person doing your alterations now and double check.
