NER: Wedding Website

We are adding to ours now. Do you typically have information about the bridal party?

I have a page for
- contacting us
- about us/INTRO
- wedding activities -> ceremony/reception location, time, address, etc [hidden until details become available]
- Accommodations (which airport, recommended shuttles, hotel information, etc)
- pictures

I thought maybe a registry page, but hadn't decided. And didn't know if a bridal party page would be weird?
My friend had one, I kind of thought it was cool, but it could maybe offend someone?... and of course I would get permission from everyone first.
I really don't want to do anything wrong! And I won't be upset if you tell me I'm wrong. I'm just confused.

Re: NER: Wedding Website

  • Personally I think adding info about a bridal party would be a bit much. I would rather have information about the wedding, logistics, the couple, etc

  • I highly doubt anyone would be offended.  However, I would think it's a bit over the top and probably wouldn't read it.

Something to think about: if you choose to put info/pics of them up, you should definitely run it by them first.  They may not want their pictures or information about them put on a wedding website, which can be googled and found by anyone (unless you password protect it.)
  • We did a page about the wedding party, but it was kind of tongue-in-cheek. Actually, pretty much everything except the ceremony/reception/hotel/shuttle information is tongue-in-cheek. We ran the one paragraph bios by everyone, and they didn't have any problems. We asked each of them for a picture, and they sent us really funny ones so it worked. We didn't reveal any information that isn't already publicly available, so it was no harm/no foul.

Stuck in box. I total would run it by them! Additionally my site is password protected and non-searchable. I'm careful with other people's info. :)

  • We had info about how we met our bridal party and how they came to be in it on ours.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • I think, if your girls are okay with it, include the BP page.  Personally, I like reading fluff like that.  It can't hurt to add them.

I would add your registry info.  Some people feel the guests should have to ask you about it, but I feel it's much easier to access if put directly on the website.

My about us page is tongue in cheek. It has cat gifs. Seened appropriate.

OP, I'd skip the Wedding Party page, I put registry info on a page on my site, but opinion is split on whether its ok by etiquette.

    Anniversary
  • I have a WP page, because my FI's family is huge and has never met our friends. They will only know one member of the WP, because FI's brother is the best man.

However, I kept it short and mostly talked about how we met and why my friends are awesome.
