The Grain Exchange

Anyone been to a wedding at the Grain Exchange this summer? OR had catering done by Bartolotta's? They are now the exclusive caterer and was looking for opinions, and if anyone know what their pricing is like. I am anxiously awaiting an email with the menu...I love the look of the place, but fear it might be UBER expensive.

My best friend had her ceremony and reception there a few years ago (and I had senior prom there much longer than that ago!) and I think it is just one of the most gorgeous places to have a reception. As far as Bartolotta's, I've not heard anything but good things, but I can't say as the last time I've personally had their food....Good luck on your search!

A good friend of mine worked for Bartolottas for quite some time and told me it was a $20,000 minimum to have an event there!!!  However, he also told me that with this economy they were having a difficult time selling the space with that minimum.  So, maybe they've dropped the minimum.  Worth checking into.  Or maybe think about a Friday wedding if you have your heart set on the place.  I'm sure it's significantly discounted on Fridays--as most venues and caterers are.I attended a wedding there about 4 or 5 years back, before Bartolotta's was the exclusive caterer and it was gorgeous!

We went to a wedding there a couple of years ago, and since then a lot has changed.  When we looked at it for our wedding (almost 2 years ago) they had a $5,000 fee just to rent the place.  After they told us that, we had heard enough.  I agree, it is gorgeous, but it might get a little pricey.  Depends on what your budget is I guess.

I was just at a wedding about a month ago catered by Bartolotta's and the food was fantastic but the serving size of the scallops was extremely small, so make sure you ask about serving sizes if you go with them. The chicken serving was HUGE!!! As for the price, I just called them last week and the minimum is $20,000 for a Saturday reception. I crossed that one off the list. :( I think it's a beautiful venue.

I looked at the grain exchange recently for my wedding reception next summer.  A couple things we noticed about their pricing that made us decide against it was that they charge extra for everything (the cake cutting, silverware, service charge etc).  So basically nothing is included which really makes it add up.  The minimum was $12,000 which isn't that bad and the chicken dish was $25 per person.
