So I planned on giving myself a few months to design/make the rough draft of my wedding gown, but I got excited so here's the rough draft of my wedding dress! It's made out of muslin, a super cheap pattern drafting material, and when I buy the real fabric I'll remove all of the seams from this prototype and use those pattern pieces to cut the real dress.
A few things to note, the muslin I used is kinda stiff so while I did put a LOT of effort into making sure each pleat is evenly spaced and identical, it's really hard to get it to fall correctly, especially since the pieces I pinned first had more time to be affected by gravity and quit poofing out than the pieces I pinned last. Also the final product may be ruched instead of pleated to get the gathering effect of the skirt- the pleats are here because given that the muslin is kinda stiff, it would have been a huge pain to get it to fall correctly by ruching it. When I get the real fabric I'll play with it a bit to see which looks better. The top part will be lace-up with boning and bra cups sewn in.
As for the real material, I'm a very tactile person so I will have to touch every option before I choose. I do want the fabric to move easily and not be super heavy, and I also do not want it to be shiny. I'm also debating if I want it to be blush or white.
