Guestbook Ideas

I can not seem to find a guestbook that I remotely like.  Has anyone seen or purchased any unique guestbooks?

Re: Guestbook Ideas

  • @maidoftoy I was thinking about the message in a bottle at each table but I am not sure that people would know what to do with them or that they might think it was just part of the decor.

I love the idea of a shadow box with pieces that get out into them but everything I have seen does not give enough room to write a message, but only to put a name.  I am having the same issue with the tree with leaves.  I almost don;t want to do anything but I think I will regret not having it after the fact.
  • I was thinking the same thing Jenn! I can't find one I like and I want one where they don't have a tiny space to write.
  • Lindsay I was looking on Etsy last night and they definitely have a larger selection of hand made but everything is so shabby chic which is not the decor of my wedding at all...sigh I did not think this was going to be so hard!
  • Thanks MaidofToy.  Maybe I will just do the shadow box idea that I LOVE, especially since I don't think I will read the messages more then once.
  • Here it is.  I am in love with the idea since it can then be displayed.  I found it on Etsy.

FI and I picked up a LARGE wooden Letter B from Hobby Lobby.  It's painted blue and looks "old".  We plan to get silver and gold sharpies/paint pens for people to sign the letter.  When we get home, we plan to seal it with some kind of wood sealer/top coat and hang it on our wall over our fire place.

Need 8 adults to make minimum.  Eek.
  • We had one and then when the photo came in I said it was too pretty write on so now we are back to square one.  Attached is a photo.  And yes, it is a wrestling belt, we had it made since we are both into the sport.

  • @MaidofToy, Etsy says it can hold up to 120 hearts and they can make them bigger.  My sister in law is pretty handy so I might see if she can just make it for me.  Just don;t know where I would put it after the wedding.  I think I may be going back to the drawing board.  LOL
  • If you don't like traditional guest books, you may not like this idea...but we had a Shutterfly book printed of some photos from our engagement session, and childhood/baby photos as well. The Shutterfly book was a pre-made format that included sections for "How do you know the bride and groom" and other "memory" sections.

We had 211 guests, and although not every guest/couple signed it, it was still signed by many.

We also had a photo booth and a guest book associated with that with copies of the photo strips, and bottles with years on the (1, 2, 5, 10, 20 - I think) with slips of paper for people to write notes for us to open on each of those anniversaries.)
