The Biltmore( Getting Ready & Photos)

I plan to get a suite in the Biltmore in Coral Gables for me, my bridal party and mother to get ready. I would also want to take our BP photos, and our first look pictures at the hotel.

Has anyone done this? Do they allow you to take photos in the hotel?

  • They are extremely generous with their property for pictures, especially if you are reserving a suite.  Make sure you have a photographer who knows the property very well, and you will have some of the most amazing shots in the world.  And don't forget about the big tree and the big water fountain.

Awesome! Yes I plan to get a suite so the girls and I can get ready and then for all the photos but also so that FI and I will have a place to sleep.

I sent them an email asking a whole bunch of questions so if i don't hear back soon i will call.

    Thanks!
  • @ d2va where are you having your ceremony? at Biltmore too? I hope to do the same thing, so keep us all updated and share the pictures after! (I bet they're going to be STUNNING!)

Im having my ceremony and reception at a venue called renaissance ballrooms, its located very close to the Biltmore, stand alone "wedding factory" but it is in budget and very nicely decorated!

Even if I had the money, I wouldnt have my wedding at the Biltmore...

I went to the hotel today just to walk around and have lunch, there were two weddings that were / are pretty much going to be happening side by side... for the amount of money spent... I wouldnt like that.

I spoke with the front desk and it seems that I will need to call Reservations in order to schedule an appointment to see rooms, and talk about packages (?) I will be doing that this week and will update with the info.!

The hotel is absolutely beautiful and if they allow photography on site and outside on the golf course thats where I will be getting ready and will be doing our first look / bridal party photos.

I am having my wedding in August, and its considered off season, but I checked the rates online, and I believe its pretty affordable for a nice suite.
  • I heard about renaissance! Glad to know that are nice inside. We're having our ceremony at the congregational church across the street and was thinking of also getting a suite for the day at Biltmore to get ready. Excited to know they allow pics!

  • The Biltmore is not the place for a budget wedding at all.  They do a spectacular dream/princess wedding that cannot be topped anyplace else. From start to finish, they create the most memorable experience.  Natalia, in catering, and one of their recommended planners, Yadi Rose, will make any bride feel like a royal.

I was really dissapointed that there were two "spectacular" weddings literally going on side by side. It is beautiful, and Im sure they feel like princesses but to spend that kind of money and be literally 50 feet away if not less than another huge wedding makes me all EH about the whole thing.
  • @d2va, I can see how you feel, but honestly, once you are in your own ballroom, you really don't know what is happening in the others or in the lobby area.  I thought it was adorable, when we were doing our visits, that I got to see two of the newlywed couples talking to each other.
Guess that's what makes the world go round.
Either way, I think you will get some amazing pictures, which was your interest to start with.  The grounds are gorgeous and the architecture is really photogenic.
    Best of luck to you!

  • So, I called and spoke with the Biltmore hotel, and apparently you have to pay an additional (aside from your room / suite) $500 to take photos on the property.

    MAJOR BUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!

    MAJORRRRRRRRR
  • OUCH!
    Im really disappointed :(

I understand their reasoning since when you pay the $500 for photos no one else will be photographing at the same time / place... but I think that if Im already in the hotel staying in a not so cheap suite that you would be courteous.
