Wedding Woes

Morning

How was the weekend?

Mine was GLORIOUS.  DH got home early enough Friday we could hit Lowe's and decide on cabinet hardware and a faucet.  Saturday morning we bucked up and took the kids to the granite yard.  We FINALLY picked granite and lighting!  We spent the afternoon making snowmen that are sad, sad, sad this morning.

Sunday DH took the kids to his mom's for the day.  I spent 6 hrs alone.  I went to Church, cleaned bedrooms top to bottom (pulling out furniture, getting the tops of door frames, baseboards, my stair risers even have vacuum lines).  Then a quick grocery run for gc to buy the hardware and home.  I ate lunch without jumping up a million times then took a NAP.

We spent the game eating "redneck tapas"- wings, hanky panks, mozzarella sticks, and potato skins.

Re: Morning

  • I was a lazy piece of crap all weekend. Got the grocery shopping done, got the laundry done (FI fixed the dryer, hooray!!) and that's about it. My huge list is still staring me in the face.

The weekend started with a bomb being dropped on us.  DH's company wants us to relocate in May.

We didn't think it would be this soon.  So IDK what we're going to do.  At least we have a little time.

I worked late on Friday and then went to a friend's house to have a couple drinks.

Saturday, DH and the kiddo helped his uncle's MIL move from OH to IN.  Defconn and I slept in late (10:15...my kid is a rock star).  We went shopping and then to the IL's to have dinner/celebrate DH's and my bdays a week late.

Sunday, DH and the kiddo went to the movies and shopping.  DefConn and I ran to Sam's and then I made a bunch of food to take to my friend's house for the Superbowl.  We stayed for the first half and the halftime show and then came home.  Everyone went to bed and everyone was having a case of the Mondays this morning.

  • Awesome weekend, 6!

Wow, conn.  That's quite a bomb.  A little more notice would have been nice.

Our weekend was fine.  DD1 had a basketball game Saturday and that was pretty much all we did that day.

We went to a superbowl party at our new friend's house last night and ate some good food.  New friend's gf had some of her friends there as well.  Two of those friends laid on the floor all night and alternated working on their abs and taking selfies.  It was the most bizarre thing I have seen at a superbowl party.
  • Dang Conn.  Do you have an idea where you would go?

Fucking Michigan.  An hour away from Grand Rapids.

My job prospects would be scant.  No bueno.

DH is putting his feelers out with some friends he has here.  He has a friend who is a headhunter and we have a couple other strings we can tug on.
  • I was a lazy bum again this weekend. I really need a hobby. I did spend an hour researching a new hobby, so that counts, right?

I do have plans for this upcoming weekend, so I'm not going to stay in lazy land.

  • Weekend was kind of all over the place.

Had dinner and drinks with friends and H on Friday.  Got a bit crazy, nothing illegal mind you.

Got woken up on Saturday at 5:45 about my crew working that day, got repeated texts or calls until around 7:00am, so I slept on the couch, and ended up having to postpone get together with friend because of the roads.

Not much else on Saturday, library run, errands, laundry.

Sunday was nieces' bday parties...4 and 7, so cute.  The 4 year old seems to love clothes, and watching her model them was enough to kill me.  So cute.

  • Weekend was mostly okay.  I was able to avoid some drama Friday and Saturday.  Sunday I cleaned the whole house from top to bottom and completely conquered dish and laundry mountains, for once.  It felt good to have that finished and organized.  Having a messy home makes me feel messy and out of control.

Our fridge is barely keeping things cool, the freezer is completely warm. Yay. That's my day right there.
  • Ugh, Jojo.  That sucks.
  • conn - is WFH still an option or do you ned to be within a certain distance of a physical office?

we have a ton of virtual positions open (i think we're moving towards mostly virtual), so if you would like, you can send me your email and i will send you a referral link. up to you. can't hurt to check out any options.

  • I would not be able to keep my job.  I will FB mail you after work tonight, Wzz.  Thank you.  :)
  • great. i feel very lucky i can pretty much move around the country and keep my job, but of course nothing is guaranteed. it's just nice to know we are not limited to one city.
  • This weekend was a mixed bag. We thought DD's reflux was better but it is not so lots of screaming from here. I got my hair cut this weekend and managed to grocery shop- all alone. Pretty glorious. Sunday was Super Bowl. We went to my parent's house and they had their neighbors over. It was fun although I missed a chunk of the game because DD was fussing. But the Seahawks won which was awesome!
  • I felt kinda crappy still all weekend.
    Still do.
Although I'm finally out of pain today, just...migraine hangover.

Had my parents over to watch the supebowl last night.
MIL's surgery for the week is cancelled due to more serious health issues.

And I almost never EVER remember my dreams, but last night I was dream-fired from my current job and I'm still in a mood because of it.
  • Friday, DD and I cuddled on the couch and watched Princess and the Frog. She must be going through another growth spurt and has been very tired and irritable for the past week.  She could barely stay up to watch the movie and it was nowhere near her bedtime.  I did appreciate the cuddle time though.  :)
Saturday, we dropped DD off at my brother's house to play with my nephew, and DH and I went to the Brazilian steakhouse/meat coma to celebrate my bday.  Two of our friends came and we stayed at the restaurant for hours enjoying the food and adult conversation (mixed in with some juvenile humor about meat, sausages, etc.)
After lunch, we picked up DD, then did a little shopping.  We rented Turbo - which was a lot better than I thought it would be.  It was so cute and I loved the supporting snail characters.  It's enjoyable anytime Snoop is involved in something, and he voiced one of the snails.
BTW, we were so stuffed from lunch that DH and I skipped dinner.  I swore I was never going to eat again.  But I did...
Sunday we went to my dad's for lunch and birthday cake.  My bday seems to be dragging on.  We had Popeye's Chicken (so much better than KFC) and I over ate.  Again.
Then we went to a friends to watch the Super Bowl.  And I over ate.  Again.  I was SO GLAD the game was awful (and commercials, too) and we were able to leave early.  I just wanted to be in my pajamas.
So the next two weeks I need to watch what I eat and be good and all that, because then it's Valentine's day and DH's bday and we'll be pigging out again.  DH wants to go to the Brazilian steakhouse for his bday, too.  We're MFEO.
  • We're getting a Brazillian steakhouse at the mall that's 2 min from my house.  I'm so excited.
  • We're in NYC, so we had awesome, beautiful snow today, but husband refused to buy snow boots,  so he had cold, wet feets. He didn't complain though, bless him. I love finally getting to play in snow, especially because it's actually not too cold here.
