  • Any tips to make your eyebrows grow/fill in?! They've always been waxed super thin (I didn't know any better when I was younger and had them done). I have tried leaving them alone but all I get are random hairs everywhere
I've never used it, but my sister really loves the Mary Kay lash & brow building serum. Half of her eyebrows were really really light so she looked like she only had half an eyebrow on each side. They look much better now.  You can also use it for your eye lashes.
@Rwhite1023 Only pluck hairs that are far away from your eyebrows.  If you get a hair that grows in that's kinda part of for brow but looks out of place, take cuticle scissors and trim it- It's best to look up a photo tutorial of that, but it's what I do, I only ever touch tweezers for VERY out of place hairs, otherwise most of my brow grooming is with cuticle scissors.  I over plucked my brows in high school and had a hard time letting them grow back in because I thought you were supposed to tweeze all hairs that looked out of place- nope, just trim.

@lakeR2014 Olive oil is an amazing eye makeup remover.  I use a bottle of that to remove my makeup and use baking soda as a scrub afterwards.  SUPER cheap and works like a dream!

and @emmabean93 yeah she is SUPER creepy.  Like so creepy that if she found out where our venue is I would literally wear an extra garter to hide a can of pepper spray or even a small knife in to feel safe.  I could share a story, but it's a long one.  I don't want to report her though because while I have issues with her, it seems like she's behaving at work and I don't think it would be fair if she got fired or in trouble just because one customer is afraid of her, as scary as she is.
That works? No offense, but I'm kind of dubious. Occasionally, I have hairs break off when I pluck them and then there's a brown spot until it grows out far enough that I can pluck it. I have pretty heavy full brows so I need to pluck ones that even aren't really far out of my brow line, otherwise they don't really look good.
She doesn't mean trim it all the way down to the skin-- just trim it so it's a little shorter and doesn't hang longer than your other eyebrow hairs.  Most of the hairs we think are out of place are really just too long.

  • Tip from my hair dresser.  DIY deep conditioning treatment.  Get a really good leave-in conditioner (Joica).   Take a dry towel and put it in the drier. Get a plastic grocery bag, ready.  Shampoo hair with everyday shampoo. Comb in deep conditioning treatment. DO NOT RINSE.  Slightly ring out excess dampness.  Put hair in plastic grocery bag.  Tie the bag in a knot, securing it to your head. With your hair still in the grocery bag,  twist your hair up in the hot towel.  Let your hair sit in the hot towel for 15-20 minutes, or until towel is cool.  Take hair out of grocery bag and rinse your hair, thoroughly, with EXTREMELY COLD WATER.  The heat from this process opens up your hair follicle, allowing the conditioner to permeate your hair, inside out.  The cold rinse shocks your hair follicle, closing the ends of your hair and sealing the conditioner within the follicle.
  • And, for people who have thick enough eyebrows, but you are borderline albino, fill it in with a brow brush (mac makeup has a good angle brow brush, also could be sed as an eyeliner applicator).  Omega is the perfect shade eyeshadow.  If you use powder, the color is less likely to smudge. Also USE eye makeup base. It literally makes it so you don't need to reapply eye makeup all day long. (mac also makes a good product called eye paint?  )  The color I use is called untitled.  It is a way to get the most use out of your eye shadow, so you can splurge for more expensive brands.
  • Great tips!! Question. I'm 30 and starting to get that "tired" look. I'm super pale and always use SPF face moisturizer. I also use a Body Shop eye smoother which helps a lot and I think I'm going to try another level up on their anti-aging line. Would that baking soda/sugar thing help wake up my skin, perhaps? Also, any other good anti-aging stuff out there? I'm scared of looking in the mirror one day and looking like Carrie in Mexico after Big leaves her jilted.
I tried the baking soda/cinnamon/honey thing last night and followed it up with CCO. My skin looks really, really nice this morning. Like you know how some people just have amazing skin, like Nicole Kidman? Kind of like that. I'm really impressed. I still have some spots that will just take time to go down, but even those are less inflamed and would be easier to cover up with makeup than they would otherwise. I feel like it sucked up my bags and circles too. I'm a believer!

Sometimes if my bags are really bad I freeze a couple spoons for a little bit and then put them on there. That's a temporary fix though. I'd also be interested in knowing more aging prevention stuff other than obviously using spf.

  • I am hooked on Naked Bee products for the body.  Their foot balm is like magic, making my heels smoother.  I even tried it on some rough patches of skin on my elbows, and it has been more effective and less greasy than anything else I have tried (including an all natural shea butter product from the co-op).

  • I swear by oil cleansing. If you haven't heard of it - google it. It sounds counter-intuitive but it really works. My acne prone combination skin is clearer and softer than it has been in the last 5 years.

I've also started washing my hair less frequently. I know this doesn't work for every hair type, but it works great for my thick, coarse, color treated hair. I use dry shampoo to keep it fresh between washes.

OK, that makes more sense. Thanks.
  • I read that Scarlett Johansen uses Apple Cyder Vinegar on her face so I Googled it for the "recipe".  It works great.  Keeps skin clear, and even toned.  I got lazy and saw the difference.  I'm back on my daily regiment and see it again.
