Meals for photographers and videographers

I'm just curious about providing a meal for the photographers and videographers.....it is just assumed that they will have dinner at your wedding or do you have to mention it to them.

I think typically you do feed them, as well as staff like the dj, but it couldn't hurt to mention it to them ahead if time. If you are using corporate vendors they might have rules about that. Self-owned shouldn't be a problem.

Usually most vendors require meals. My photog & DJ specified in their contracts. I would call and ask them to be sure.

Our caterer told us that they've got it covered, no need to add them into the numbers if it's just a few vendors.  So, I'd ask the photographer/videographer/and dj, etc, and also see what your caterer usually does.

We fed our photogs and DJ. We asked them if they wanted a meal, the photogs declined.

Our DJ will not allow us to feed them.  They eat before or after.  I asked several times and they declined each time.  Our photographer is also a guest, so she will be eating dinner

Generally it's spelled out in the contract. We had a special vendors table in our ballroom with the guests for our videographers & the photographers. (Our DJ ate at their booth) We got special pricing with our caterer for the vendors but we fed them the same food. It was important to me to have them in the same room so they could have time to eat & also be there to capture any special moments. They really are working a long day; best to make sure they are happy & fed! :)
